Damn my veins ! Hi everyone. I have just had the nurse round to take a blood test before my appointment with the consultant onc on Thurs morn. She tried afew times and it was a waste of time. So i told her to take it out my bad arm, i told her my onc said it was ok to do this as a last resort (as long as its not an infusion). I am dreading the test results which i will get tomororw incase my marker has changed. I also still have this weird throat/neck thing where i either feel like i have food stuck at the front or someones hand around my neck and squeezing.
I am also going to ask her if i can cut the blood tests to every 6 months instead of every 3 as this morning was a nightmare (am in France).
I will also see what she says about my hair not growing back (now 1 year after chemo).
As you can see i am rambling but feeling scared.
Got my blood test back today. They are quick workers over here in France.
The good news is my marker is even slightly lower trhan the last time!
The last 2 times (i never bothered looking before then) it has been 9.50 which they said was very good but results today say 9.00 so i am very happy. Just got the onc to see now on Thurs.

I had chemo 2yrs ago now and its ruined my veins-when l need blood test the nurses at my surgery run in opposite direction!!you end up being a pin cushion as they dig and prod!!!Last time l felt faint but warned them to carry on if l did!!!

Good to hear from you. Why are they still taking blood tests just out of interest? I haven’t had any since chemo finished 5 months ago now. Wow weee feels good to say 5 months. Shame your hair still hasn’t grown back. I wonder if stress has caused it not to grow back? I was worried about that. When I used to suffer anxiety I used to get a tight throat. Good luck.

Thanks girls, i went to see her this morning and she said my blood test was very good (thank god) and everything is looking rosie. When i told her about my throat she said it feels ok and i she doesnt think its BC related and to go to my normal gp.But she did ask me if it started when i finished my rads so am thinking its maybe weakened my spincter and could be a hernia as i keep getting heartburn as well. We shall see.
When she said my bald head she said she thinks i have had a rare reaction to the taxatere and is suprised.
The reason i am still having blood tests is thats what they like to do in France! she said every 3 months till 2 years after treatment finishes and then 6 monthly for ever after.
So heres to the next 3 months…

you were the page i saved, you had just finished chemo and was telling everyone,
i am sorry you are having trouble with your hair and i do hope you get it sorted.
every time i log on, you come up and today here you are again, wonder what it means.
