Dana Reeve Heard on the news this evening that Dana Reeve has died - aged 44, of lung cancer.
Don’t know why but this has really upset me.

Is this lady Christopher Reeve’s wife? I wonder whether she smoked or if there are any other cancer-related life styles about her…

Me too I felt very sad too, because she supported her husband Christopher Reeve so devotedly before he died and at 44 she should have had many more years ahead of her. This vile disease…
Dana Reeve According to the BBC website she was a life-long non-smoker. The thing I found very upsetting was that she leaves behind a 13 year old son. So hard for him to have lost both parents within 2 years.

Dana Reeve How sad that poor boy. I read somewhere when it was first announced she had lung cancer that she was a non smoker. My dad died of lung cancer at the age of 49 he was also a non smoker.

Dana Reeve I remember watching a documentary on Christopher Reeve soon after he died and thinking how wonderfully supportive and caring his wife was. She deserved many more years with her son and vice-versa. It is so sad.
Very sad her poor son loosing both parents so young,

I was upset too… Anne,
I was also very upset when I heard the news about Dana Reeve. I don’t usually get teary eyed about celebs but this was different. She really did stand by her husband through some tremendously tough times, she was quite the activist and a concerned mom. The thought of her husband dying just two years ago and now her…and leaving a child without younger siblings (he does have two adult half siblings) is heart-breaking. It’s bad enough to know you have to leave your child prematurely but to know there’s not another parent there would tear you apart.
