Hi Claire
Am ok, bit nervous and tense I think. The thought of having all those drugs pumped into me again is quite daunting, and I know it is to make me better, but quite scary. Am getting worried that the lack of side effects can’t continue to be as good, but we never know. Hair, well what can I say, looks blimin awful. Wet it in the shower this morning, but combing is nightmare as huge chunks come out. Getting thinner and am getting more concerned/upset. Not emotional yet, but not sure how will go.
Hope you are OK and not getting too worked up for tomorrow. I have had loads of ops in the past and you will be fine. THe anaesthetic is great for going to sleep, you start to count and normally only get to 4 and then you are fast asleep. Of course you will come round, and we will ALL be here waiting to hear from you and let us know how you are.
Take care
Love
Dawn

OMG sweetheart you must be tense about today. The thing to think tho is… look what it is doing to my hair so it must be zapping that bugger out of me too. I feel that im being silly about my op as it is nothing to what you are going through at the mo. You will get better from all this as your far toooooooooooo special to be poorly for long, plus we all need you to kick us all up the jacksy.
When is the hairdresser coming round next… wish i was nearer as i would come round and do it for you.
good luck today and we are all holding your hand through it xxxxx

Hi All
Back from chemo, was OK. Didn’t need blood test, although had one, as they take a sample when put needle in and have a machine to test it on, so don’t have to worry about that in future. Done OK, took just over 2 hours in the end, from start to finish and they were running slightly late again!!! Got same Senna tablets this time, as was a little constipated for 4 days last time (like you want to know) and same sickness ones, so heres hoping no side effects to really worry about again. Fingers crossed. Nearly got emotional when nurse talking to me at the end, saying how positive I seem and I mentioned the bad sentence of “just wanna be here to see my babies grow up”, but thankfully managed to control myself, so was OK.
Thank you all so much for your messages to me, makes me smile and know that I am not alone. Another 3 weeks then same again. Least I am now one third of the way through, although when chemo finished, should then be on herceptin, and that is every 3 weeks too for a year, so no rest for the wicked, thinking of booking a room at the hospital!! LOL. Will be able to get to the hospital blindfolded by the end of this … as will be there so much. Never thought I would be going to hospital on a regular basis have to say.
Anyway, hope everyone is ok today and everyone else who had treatment it all went ok. Good luck for everyone else with their ops and chemo sessions this week.
Love to all
Dawn

Just wondered, what chemo regime you are on?
Maggie
Hi Maggie
I am on FEC x 3 and then Taxotere x 3 and then should be herceptin. Got bc but also diagnosed at the same time with secondary liver. So now a third of the way through, and only 4 more to go. What are you on and have you started yet.
Feeling pretty knackered right now, baby in bed and muppet about to go and let the war commence!!! But she might surprise us and go to bed without playing up!!! Oh how I wish.
Take care

Hi Dawn,
The reason I asked, I got the results of my quadrantectomy last friday, and told by my surgeon that I would need rads and five years worth of Tamoxifen, The hospital rang on Monday with an appointment yesterday with the Oncologist. When I met with her she has offered me Chemo (EC x 4), as although it’s was only a grade 1 it’s very HER2+ receptive and wants me to have Herceptin. Talk about giant step backwards. Have been trying to weigh up the pros and cons, although it’s really a no brainer, as the onc wouldn’t have suggested it if there was no need.
So sorry to off load, but today has not been my best!
I wish you well, with the small one’s, I got large one’s and they put themselves to bed, bless them all.
Take care
Love Maggie
Hi Maggie
I think EC is that same as FEC (but without the F … durrrr not sure though as all so new to me). Not sure which part makes your wee wee pink though. No idea of my grades or size, never told and now to scared to ask. I am HER2+ and so going onto Herceptin. Good in one way, as supposed to very good drug, but bad in the other that means my cancer more aggressive. I can’t win can I. Lets hope all this treatment kills the little b******s though.
Ask anything you like. Helps me to talk about it on here, as family and friends don’t really understand what I am going through etc, so whatever you want to know ask, although as fairly all new to me, not much help really.
And to show you how thick I am, what is a quadrantectomy?? Got me on that one. Sounds like 4 x something!!!
Take care
