Day 13 into my first cycle of FEC

Hi fellow pumpkins! I’ve just started my chemo for grade 2 Breast cancer…I’ve had to have 3 wide local excisions to get my margins clear but now feel much more relaxed now the chemo is finally under way. I’ve already shaved my head because I didnt want to wait for it to fall out. This was a really liberating experience for me and I actually love being bald! (well I still have a bit of stubblle!) The side effects werent too bad at all…headaches, constipated, the runs and a few spots and tiredness but nowhere nears as bad as I thought and on day 13 I feel back to normal!

I’ve noticed a few of my stubbly hairs falling out when I rub my head now…I was obsessed with buying headscarves etc but have been going out walking the dogs showing off my new bonce! We should be proud of it!

Its really helpful reading all the posts on here, very reassuring to know all my side effects are normal.

Should I expect all my cycles to be similar or are they different each time as in the side effects?I’m hoping they will all be the same as this one has been pretty easy

Hi Gurth
I’ve had FECT and have found the worse side effect for me has been the tiredness which has got a little worse after each treatment but it is different for each of us. The t part or docetaxal is ok initially but I find after a few days when it gets in your system it causes vein and muscle aching its not too bad to manage but don’t get a lot done at all. With my hair when it first started falling out I did wear scarves too but got too hot so I got my son to cut it short and everyone just accepted the new me And i felt much better not feeling i had to hide. I did go bald but it has started to grow back already. I don’t sleep too well either that’s why I write so late.
good luck with your next treatments
