My wife as said before is now just on Xeloda.
Has anyone experienced tiredness such as hers. She now sleeps at least 18 hours a day, sometimes she has insomnia and therefore just gets more and more tired.
She has no will to do anything and I am finding it very hard for her.

Hi Terry,
Sorry I have no information for you, but just wanted you to know that I am thinking of you and your wife at this tough time. I am sure that some of the other ladies will be able to give you some info to help.

Hi there Terry
You dont say how long your wife has been on Xeloda or how long she has had mets - if it is just the begining then I recon it is normal.
If nothing else the stress of mets plus a new treatment can take all the energy you have .
I am not on Xeloda but another chemio and I found that the first month I too slept all the time and was even tired when I woke up in the morning . The second month was better and this month I can cope but I am still exhausted - not tired but exhausted.
You know its a hard battle to keep fighting all the time plus treatment .
Sometimes its just nice to have a breather and give in for a while .
I would say give her a chance to catch up emotionally for a while but why not mention it to the specialist next time she goes .
Keep in touch as you will find that we are all here to help each other

Hi Janewiz.
She has been on Xeloda for 11 months, the first 9 months with Taxoter every three weeks but that had to stop after 11 sessions.
She is now on 4500 MG/DAY of Xeloda with no other chemo. She started on 5300 mg but the sickness got too much for her.
She was diagnosed with mets to all the skeleton last May plus liver, about 75% of total area, and small lung spots.
The skeletal mets have improved but the liver has not. She has shrunk 3.5 inches in height and her left leg and hip are shorter, she is on 75mg patches of Morphine.
We did mention it to the ONC and she just said it will not change either now or in the future, however long that is.
Hi Terry
Thanks for your reply.
It must be hard for you both and all I can do is send my love - but keep in touch as we are here for you
