tomorrow i am to have 4 units of blood at the verlinda nr cardiif then have my last fec as bloods to low today. the nurse explaine a lot more than my oncagisty on the reduced amout of fec so feel much happiier now

Well today’s the day for me. Find out if my last fec is going to be reduced or not due to how bad my see were last time. Dreading going in. Ah well, needs must! See you all on the other side. Big hugs Tina, enjoy having your daughter round xx

I am on antibiotics too after seeing my gp today. I have a cough that is quite chesty and temp slightly up but not by a lot. Chest clear at the moment but really wheezy so on them as a precaution seeing my youngest has had bacterial tonsillitis and chest infections caused by same germ. Haven’t called into unit but as seen gp I am guessing that’s fine.

Nearly vomited everywhere immediately after chemo. On reduced dose too. Very shakey and weak straight off.
Was it Tina talking about a white tongue? Sounds like thrush my dear. Warm salty mouth rinses and contact gp. You will need to change toothbrush after too. I’ve been changing toothbrushes after each chemo, to reduce any extra bugs. Try and stay away from corsodyl ladies. If you need it for sore gums…and I really mean sore gums, use it but you can only use it for 10 days. It is a medicated mouthwash and it will take away your sense of taste and cause bad staining. Going to try and go back to sleep now.

Unluckily we are in Kent this weekend and when I packed my bag to come up I forgot to bring my injections for the weekend. Hoping 111 will have some advice on that as it is always tricky to get anyone at mdcu after hours.

Glad the tongue is calming down Tina, sometimes it can just be a build up if plaque, which makes things taste rank. A wee gentle brush would remove.
Rough night. Had a fever then boarding hypothermia. Had to talk to people down from taking me to A+E it sorted out after a few hours and I felt OK during. Enjoy Kent Vicky! How was the birthday party?

Haven’t had the party yet. I knew I wouldn’t be up to it then. It was his actual birthday Tuesday. His party is next Saturday 13th. I can’t wait! He wants a lego ninjago themed party and I am going to town! Pin the beard on sensui wu, ninja staues, ninja noodles, lego brick sandwiches, cakes that look like sushi, hand made party bags and badges and all sorts of things. Think I am more excited than my youngest!
Went to Bromley today to visit Leo’s best mate and best man to be! Party favour shopping tomorrow. Got to get it all sorted as won’t have time in the week with work and appointments. Think I am a big kid lol!

Could someone let me know when to take the steroids. Having a massive fight right now with my mum as she hasn’t recorded the times properly and my head is all.messed up. I have dexamethasone and ondanaetron. I know one bunch should have both doses taken before 2pm which we are way past. I’m struggling with nausea but don’t want to take the extra drugs until I have taken the ones I’m meant to first
My drugs are emend 80mg once a day for 2 days,ondanaetron 8mg twice a day,for 3 days,dexamethasone 2mgx2 twice a day with food for 3 days, movicol twice a day, levomepromazine 25mg tabs- a quarter a night. Metoclopramide hydrochloride 10mg. These are my if nothing works tabs. To be taken 3 times a day when required.this has taken ages to write hope all ok.

Yeah.my mum is nurse. I was just having a mini freak out. Was getting very confused. I’m on loads due to sickness. Must not forget the fun injections either.
This has been the same script for all fec too, except the movicol which got added this time due to how bad constipation was last time.
Oh the injections are the immune ones

You are on an awful lot of medication! I have emend, Metoclopramide hydrochloride (which don’t seem to need as much on emend), dexamethasone 2mg x4 once a day (well after fec anyway, t is a different story and sore point), and one other beginning with o which I can’t remember what it is called right now. It is for gastric acids/indigestion.

Tina glad you are starting to come out of the dip. It took a bit longer for me this time too although was poorly on top too.

Tina, I’d be interested in seeing what they say about your forearm. A week after my first FEC, I noticed the underside of mine was sore - like a pulled muscle I guess. I have the same on the other arm, but that’s me surgergy side and it’s been like it for weeks now! Anyway, had my second FEC this afternoon and as the chemicals were going in I could feel it going up the vein in the underside of that arm, so I’m now thinking it could be chemo related now. There’s no bruising, or redness and at the moment feels fine. i did also wonder if it was because I’m on my phone so much now - you know, repetitive strain injury!!
