Eeekkkk! D-day tomorrow! So relieved and pleased to finally start treatment after 2.5 months of tests and waiting. Had my first 8 pills of Dexamethasone today and don’t feel anything. Just hope I can sleep tonight and fight off my sons flu/virus for another day!
Hope everyone is doing ok.

Fingers and toes crossed for you. Drink lots of water and be prepared for pink pee if you’re having EC x

Was managing so well until today (day 6 post chemo), but really struggling with nausea and vomited this morning. Think I was so focused on getting through Christmas Day, but suffering for it now. Had metoclopramide this morning but vomited it up.

Husband has a stinking cold too, managed to avoid it so far (fingers crossed).

What a strange Christmas we’re having. Keep telling myself it won’t be forever.

How’s everyone else doing today?

Hey lovely, want to wish you well for today. Please let us know how you get on.

I’m struggling to concentrate on anything, no reading, no crochet and feeling sick all the time. I’m taking the anti sickness now even when not feeling queasy.

That aside, take each day at a time. Rest when you need to xxxx you got this! X

I’m so pleased you both sound like you had a reasonable Christmas and the worst of the side effects had the good manners to stay away this long. I was lucky that I didn’t use any of the extra sickness pills, although I did have a bucket nearby just in case. I just wanted to sleep so I didn’t hurt from neck to waist. I was on paracetamol.
I had a lovely few hours at Lyme Regis yesterday. Lovely sea air. Lots of people around, but kept away from the crowds and stayed outside x

That sounds like a lovely day out! Can’t beat fresh air can you? I’m out with the dogs and husband walking but it knocks me for 6, just being kind to myself and resting when needed.

Have a lovely day you gorgeous lot xxx

@mrsbee2 I’m sorry to hear that. Feeling pretty rough since yesterday to be honest with nausea and vomiting. Not sleeping much at all either as wake up feeling sick. My anti sickness meds have been changed to cyclizine today, we’ll see if that helps.

Still managed to avoid husbands’ heavy cold (he has taken himself off to sleep in the spare room, don’t blame him)!

Are you managing to keep up with fluids? Perhaps an energy drink might help?

Fingers crossed we turn a corner soon and begin to get back to something more normal.

Take care and I hope you feel better soon x

Also struggling a bit with right upper abdo pain which I thought might be due to the Filgrastim injections, however I’m wondering if it might be liver/gall bladder kicking off a bit?

I’m sorry you’re both being sick. I guess the sickness meds worked for me. My problem was swollen glands and hurting when I moved. I just wanted to sleep.
Are you both drinking lots of water, particularly if you are being sick. I found the water helped to wash the horrible taste away briefly, especially when I was eating something. Another chemo veteran I met told me she ate lots of melon, chopped up into bite size pieces. I’ll be taking a small tub with me for my 2nd dose on Friday.

:heart:do ring your teams if antisickness meds not working and also get any pains checked out with them too :heart:antisickness meds will be tweaked till they get right combination and always best to give quick call and get things checked out with your teams, that’s what they are there for and appreciate you being vigilant and checking with them do they get you safely through chemo. Don’t think oh this is chemo and you don’t want to make a fuss. Always remember you are not making a fuss, if anything doesn’t feel quite right, temperature or not, please ring your teams :two_hearts::two_hearts::sparkles::sparkles:Shi xx

Thanks Shi for your tips. I called mine, they were so lovely. I’ve taken the ani Diarrhoea tabs now, I forgot I had those. My whole body aches and I can’t get comfortable. Just feel really restless! Can’t read, literally can just about type!

Here’s hoping a good day for everyone tomorrow.

I really crave melon now :grin::grin::grin:

Hi during my chemotherapy last year i used to take, chopped up apple and sometimes salad items i could tolerate to eat during my extra long chemo - i was on cold cap hence longer session. my taste buds flutuated through a variety of likes and dislikes, and i learnt to go with the flow. session 1 -3 were the worst for tastes but i found eating - this will sound awful- charcoaled toast, actually helped flush through. and before all meals -1 capful of cider vinegar mixed with 1 teaspoon of honey melted into hot water, and drunk when warm. this is a natural electrolyte which settled my stomach. I fully understand where you ladies are coming from, been there and you will get through, its good you have each other in the forum, i came to it late. If your family are frightened to listen or talk find a close buddy, there is always one - i found this a greater benefit, when you just wanted them at the time. On christmas day last , year my tooth crown fell out, Hot line -,no reply so rang the samaritans, they were great. Love hugs are flying your way, lol M xxx

Hi, I also had awful sickness with Docetaxol chemo and my anti sickness meds were changed to Cyclizine which helped. My niece sent me some Gin Gin lozenges/sweets (no gin included:cry:), they’re strong ginger and sweetness but they helped me, you can get them on Amazon. It’s such an awful time and I just didn’t look too far ahead. My very best wishes to you. :kissing_heart::kissing_heart::kissing_heart:
