December 2025 chemo starters

Congrats on the fitness progress so far!

I haven’t weighed in yet but I’ve been trying to improve my post chemo diet now I can stomach more healthy foods.

Same on the eyelash & eyebrows, I still have stragglers but they are falling out faster than they are growing in so I’ve got nice gaps in my eyelashes haha.

I hope you don’t have to wait too long for your results as it’s such an anxious time. I think I was only around 10 days between my surgery and my follow up appointment. My fingers are crossed that your nodes are clear but if they aren’t the next treatment will make sure you definitely are going to have a cancer free life again. You’ve already done the hardest parts so whatever is next you’ve got it!!

How is everyone getting on with their radiotherapy? Anyone experiencing fatigue? I feel like it’s hit me a little today xx

Hello lovely ladies :revolving_hearts:

I have been reading through the thread and catching up on how you are all doing. So glad that I think we’ve all finished chemo now? How are you ladies finding radio?

Sorry I’ve not been on - I had exactly 4 weeks off after my last chemo and I just needed to have a break mentally from it all for a while. I had my lymph node clearance last week and I’ve been recovering well apart from I still have my drain in. I’m averaging 100ml output a day so Dr wants to keep it in. I’m post op day 10 and getting fed up of it now! They said they will take it out on Monday regardless due to risk of infection. I forgot how bloody annoying the drain is :joy:

Seeing oncologist on the 19th to get radio booked in and discuss going on tamoxifen. Anyone else due to start tamoxifen?

Xx

Hi, gosh yes you’ll be glad to see the back of the drain! I’ve done 10/15 radiotherapy it’s absolutely fine just boring hour drive each way for 15 minute appointment, I’m not on tamoxifen I’m on letrozole and zoladex injection, so far no side effects so hopefully that will continue, good luck for Monday and hope you are recovering well xx

I’m done! December chemo ladies finally completed

I won’t share the video of me ringing the bell as I’m a blubbering mess and struggled to get the words out.

@evicting_00_squatter no confirmed date yet but probably the last week of June. Need to decide which type of surgery to go for…mastectomy with immediate reconstruction which sounds like the best option but terrifying, mastectomy with delayed reconstruction or going flat. The complication is I’m having radiotherapy afterwards which makes things a little tricky.

Will they definitely not offer you a lumpectomy?

It’s unlikely as I had a big tumour which is why I had chemo first to shrink it but will see after my end of chemo scan next week x

You got this! We’ve all managed it, it’s been hard but we did it and so can you! :folded_hands: xx

Just got back from my surgery pathology results and they weren’t what I was hoping for.

I need to have another surgery as the margins were fractionally short of what was required.

Also 1 of the 3 lymph nodes they removed has a macramet. So they will need to remove the rest of the lymph nodes during the second surgery as well. They had all looked clear on the MRI and ultrasounds so this is gutting.

Also a small amount of residual disease, so a full house of not the results I was hoping for. Gutted.
