Read this post and thought I would share my experience. I don’t post much now as am 2 years down the line from diagnosis. For me losing my hair was never much of an issue. One thing I would say is that what no one tells you is once it really comes loose so to speak is how painful your head becomes. I was glad to get rid of mine at thatpoint as it hurt even to move. And remember at that point nothing is going to save it. So best thing is to bite the bullet and shave it off. My husband did mine and for then I became a dab hand with scarves and hats. Never bothered with a wig, they are hot and itchy and when your head get hot in one it goes on getting hotter and hotter and hotter. My hair is back to normal now, I have got past the short, grey, curly phase and and back to the straight blond normal me phase now. It really won’t be as bad as you think? For me losing my eyebrows and lashes was worst, I had to resort to fakes for both to stop me looking like an egg, but they grow back really quick.
I didn’t suffer any discomfort when I lost my hair at the start of chemo. I did wear a wig but not nearly as much as I thought I would. I just wanted to say that I really quite like my new hair although it’s still not quite right yet. Everyone tells me how much it suits me and I feel really liberated by it. I would never have dared to have had it cut this short but now I have had it forced on me it’s great. No more blow drying and worrying about getting wet, which in this terrible ‘drought’ we are having is a really possibility!

My hair is still on my head but it is falling out gradually but not at my roots…so will need to make a decision about this getting my head shaved, i just need to take the plunge xx

Errrm latest on my hair…well it’s coming out in chunks now and its like worzel gummage hair so now its getting on my nerves and its itchy .Hair is dropping out all over the place so its clippers time…i never thought id be saying i want it all off but in the end you realise that its got to go. xx
