hi i had mine last year. I had first appt with plastic surgeon in the middle of august then went for the CT scan a week later and then back to get results to see if i could go ahead. I then had the mx and DIEP recon on the 13th Sept but i had asked that i did not have the op in the first week of Sept as i would be settling my son into school. so in total it was 5 weeks but it could have been sooner

If yours is a delayed diep I think your waiting times on nhs will be a lot longer. I had my mx in Jan 2010 followed by chemo and radiotherapy. Had appointment with the plastic surgeon in Feb this year. Was told six month waiting list which would have been this month. Spoke to ps’s secretary last month and we are now looking at October but it depends how many immediate recons he gets meanwhile as they take priority. It also probably depends where you are in the country, postcode lottery again. I am in Buckinghamshire.

I think my wait could well be similar to yours Pam and am OK with that, but I’m also wondering what the impact might be of the current campaign in the national press that more women should be offered immediate recons. BB
