Shirl your post has moved me to tears and is wonderfully written and yes your right this illness forces you to become a person that you never thought possible and all for the better. Tricia xxxx
Oh my goodness, no. I’m not disagreeing in an argumentative way Shirl I just strongly disagree with the idea that cancer can be considered a good thing. Just this week three ladies who use the secondaries forums have lost their lives, much too soon. I was a nice person before getting cancer. I didn’t need this disease to better empathise with others. Why is cancer “romanticised” in this way? I have never heard of other diseases being so eulogised. I was a better, stronger person for having leprosy etc? I will die long before my time of this ****** disease. I love life and have been living on constant treatment since 2004.
But wishing you good luck with your treatment, your recovery. My very best wishes.
It appears I need a disclaimer ![]()
By no means do I intend to offend or upset anyone by this post - these are my views/experiences and I’ve written them from the heart.
I do not intend to imply that anyone else suffering from this terrible disease should consider it as a good thing, rather,if you read my original post, you’ll see that I am just expressing my own feelings and journey so far.
