Denosumab

Hi Ladies,

I started denosumab for cones mets to the spine a week ago. Last weekend I had quite alot of pain around the met area of my spine. Could anyone advise me have they had anything similiar?

I’m having a full body scan tomorrow to see if the mets have spread anywhere else as my oncologist has said the CT scan doesn’t alway show the mets as clearly as the bone scan.

Many thanks in advance

Chris xx

Hi Chris

I’ve just had my 4th injection. I’m finding I have increased pain days 2 to 7. I have extensive mets & bone marrow involvement. I’m booked in for a CT scan to see if treatment is working.

Thanks Ingrid, I suppose I was day 6/7 so maybe similiar pains. Thanks for your reply, Good luck with your CT scan hope it goes well you.

Hi Chris and Ingrid, just wanted to wish good luck to you both with your up coming scans. I’m on bisphosphonat tablets but I used to have infusions, Pamidronate. A few times after an infusion I too experienced pain. My Onc has often told me bones that are healing can cause pain. Following scans would often show this to be the case. I hope this may well be the cause of your pain. I’ve been thinking about asking about Denosumab so would love to hear if it’s working well for you. Best Wishes…x.x.

Hi Belinda,
Thanks for your reply, I’ve just started on Denosumab so very early days for me. he injection takes seconds and its all over so I would recommend it for quickest. Lets hope it’s the drug working its magic for us all.
