Dents in recon

I had a diep recon about two months ago. I have a couple of dents over the breast. Has anyone had this and can it be corrected in any way? I know that excess fat can be removed with lipo. I am just a bit concious of this if any clothes show skin over the breast.

Any comments would be appreciated
Thanks

Hi Cassie

Linda here, we talked on another thread. We are similar timing with diep. I have dents which seem to change, was unsure if it was due to the bra pressing. Saw ps on Monday who said it is tissue and fluid. He said that when the swelling has gone and the tissue goes softer (which can take up to six months) the dents and shape that is left he will lipo and the boob should match the other - here’s hoping.

I like you would be interested if anyone has had dents etc after diep and what the outcome is.

My boobs are odd sizes at the mo because I have a lot of tissue in new boob so wearing tight clothes is a no no, I have acquired lots of waistcoats and cardigans, thank goodness that’s the fashion.

Otherwise I feel well and carrying on as normal. Tummy still swollen, I believe this will also take up to a year for the fluid to drain away and the swelling to go.

Keep posting. Take care.

Hi there,

I had a Diep recon about 18 months ago, my dent didnt appear until after a year, I have just been to see my plastic surgeon and next week am having coleman fat transfer, this is where they do some lypo to get some fat from my legs, bum, muffin tops, they can take their pick and clean the fat and inject it into the dent - I’m also having some scar revision done on my recon too, to tidy it up - I am having a general with one overnight stay, the surgeon said it is not guaranteed to work as the fat will need to attach to a blood supply or again over time it would be reabsorbed.

Will let you know how I get on.

Hi Linda

Thanks for your post. I don’t think I have any fluid and my boobs are both a similar size. The dent that I have is over the top of the new breast and towards the centre of the chest, it is not anywhere near where my bra goes. The new breast is still hard but I think it has softened a little.

I think my tummy is a little swollen, I’d thought I might go down a clothes size as a result of the tummy tuck!! I’m still in the same size but my daughter says it looks as though I have a toned tummy and no wobbly bits!!

I go back to see the ps and breast surgeon in January. I am sure that I have read in the forums about filler being used for dents but don’t know anything about it.

Do keep in touch it is good to compare notes, take care

Cassie

Hi Linda

I’ve now discovered that you can have dermal fillers used to fill any dents you have. I don’t know if anyone else can pass on any information about them.

How are you? Any improvements in the swelling? Take care

Cassie
