Hi everyone
I was diagnosed last October, had WLE in November. Radiotherapy started on 14 February, eleven weeks after surgery. This delay is a constant worry re recurrence. Also, the diagnosis has made me very aware of my mortality (I am not young) and the thought of “going” depresses me more than I can say.
What with the restriction on animal fats and dairy foods, cow’s milk, and wine, what is the point of it all! I live alone and cannot find “hope” for what’s left.
Does anyone have suggestions on how to cope with the whole sorry affair?
Also, does anyone on Arimidex have “itchy legs” and any suggestions here?
I am sorry to be such a doom and gloom. I know that there are very many much worse off than me but this depression is all encompassing.
I would be most grateful for any feedback. Dee

Please consider call the BCC Help Line they are very good listeners. There is also an email service where you can ask qualified nurses any questions related to your condition.
We’ve all felt this way.
Best wishes for feeling better soon.

Hi Dee
Well I’d say the first thing you should do is get yourself some Green and blacks chocolate, a fillet steak and a glass of red wine if thats what you’d like. There is no definite evidence on diet and breast cancer…certainly not for cutting out all of anything.
Yes a balanced healthy diet is good for anyone but please don’t make yourself miserable by not eating food you enjoy. Treats are a must.
Many people feel really low after tretament has finisghed. The link below is to an article many of us have found useful.
Go easy with yourself…a breast cancer diagnosis is hard to deal with…but most people find a way of living with it…and many do for many many years

ho dee
I agree with jane, cheers.
I know about depression and where it takes you dont let the bu…r get you down, easy to say not to do but you have everything to live for…you…
you have lived with this before and will again because you are brave and couragous to have dealt with it once.
get well again and get involved with something like fund raising for this wonderful web site and the people who run it. I am newly diagnosed and cannot thank the people at the other end of the phone line enough.
take care
chris
