Update on ‘berrygate’
I have just had a letter from the hospital with an appointment to see Latin Dr re ‘berry’ 9th September!!!
My ‘berry’ has grown considerably and is now grape size, gets stuck in lace in pants and I have to give it consideration when sitting etc. In actual fact it is developing it’s own personality.

Goodbye to ‘berry’
Well I have just had a bath as showers are not so good for ‘berry’ and guess what? Yep it has just dropped off!!!
I had spent 30 mins trying to get through to hospital got all hot and stcky so decided to bath and the rest is history. I now how the lower part of my anatomy back and it looks very normal and nice.
Bit early for harvest festival but I am so glad it has gone.

Hope you are saving it for an inquest debs!! It would be interesting to get some answers. Ohhh… the temptation to take this deeper. LOL

Great news Debs.

Thank you jennywren for your little weepy. Yes opening my mouth at BCC last September was the first time I realised my voice might be damaged.
I wept a bit more on my hospice nurse this morning…really all about getting used to the new normal where not only is my voice unreliable, but yes I may be in permanent pain when walking or moving about…but the ‘good’ news still is that the spread isn’t in my major organs…so someome fitter and more mobile than me right now, may have much poorer long term prognosis. I can live with these restrictions for months and months…its hard but who said anything about cancer were easy.
Jane
Debs so glad you are now berry free, though what will entertain everyone now?
Hope it is a good omen about the rest of your treatment and things continue to improve.
I am down to one hand as my tax leaked and my right hand is now nigh on useless, am hoping it will recover but as given no assurances of whether or when by the registrar today. At least typing is possible with your left hand!

I have been having chemo with a woman who was at school with me, in the same year (sorry if your ears are burning - not sure you read these forums…) who is triple negative with lymph spread, and has a much worse time with her treatments than I do. Yes, it is hard to realise that she is in far better shape than me with my loads of liver mets realistically, but in real terms, I can still manage my life just fine and have suffered minimal effects from four years of cancer.
Berry glad to hear that the fruit is no more than a windfall now…

How bizarre! Dare I ask where the berry is now - not in a pie I hope! Glad it’s gone though.

So very pleased Debs - was thinking about you yesterday.
Hi debsincornwall, I am so glad that the “Fruits of thy labour” has fallen off in the bath. You kept me glued to the site to find out the latest developements… Will you please keep us posted after you have spoken to your doctor about it? It reminds me of a problem I had. I had a “sharp bit” poking out of my left breast. (I had mastectomy and reconstuction on this side in 1989.) I went eventually to the clinic showed the nurse, she called the doctor on duty to have a look. He got all gloved up, took a pair of tweezers and it came away as easily as could be in two seconds. It was the remainder of an internal stitch about 15 years after the operation!! And I had been worrying about it for weeks! Keep well, love from Scottishlass XX
Great news about the berry debs now one less thing to worry about.

Just been out picking our blueberries and it put me in mind of you Debs! So rushed in to see the latest news - good to hear you are berryfree - must have been weird! When I had my last child I had the most enormous piles - to stick with the fruity theme-not unlike a bunch of black grapes. I was lying in hospital having given birth a couple of days before to be woken up by the most gorgeous doctor who looked like a young Paul Newman - I was still half asleep and he gently asked me to roll over - had a look at my fruity bum, mutteres"oooooh now that is the worst I;ve seen - this will help"and promptly slapped an ice pack on with no warning - talk about a rude awakening…several years later I had a pilectomy…haemerroidectmy…ok so who can spell it right? Not the most pleasamt of ops- my older daughter thought they had sewn me up and I would never go again! Love to all- especially Debs xx
Hi Debs - so berry happy to hear that you are no longer having troubles - did give me a giggle - but so glad its gone.

well Debs - just apple pie - forget the exotic fruit = but apple pie is good, jayne x
YAY bye bye berry!!!
Glad it’s gone and you don’t have to have Latin Doc poking it down there! Thanks for making me laugh so much though Debs.

What a “berry” good ending Debs… but what on earth was it?
Great that you have finally “shed” your berry Debs! I wonder what it could have been eh? Never mind it has kept us all amused for hours, you’ve managed to brighten the mood again.
Hope your treatment is going well, mine is a bit of a pain at the moment!
Diane
Had my 3rd vinerolbine today it ishard to believe that 4 small tablets can knock me out but they do. Did anyone else have this or it just me?
While I was waiting for bloods to be don ‘Brian’ spotted me in clinic and made a bee line for me. I sheepishly asked if he had any results on ‘berry’ he looked at me and said they would study it I said I didn’t mind what he did to it now it was no longer hanging off my cherry. He smiled and as he turned to walk away I heard him say ‘I always said you had balls’ We both laughed rather loudly in a shyish sort of way.
Well my eldest daughter is here for a few days and as I was too ill to go to her 40th it is so nice to have her here.
Hope you all have a great weekend those having treatment hope you are not feeling too bad, those able to get out and about have fun.
Love Debsxxx
Re: Vinorelbine, a friend (no longer here) had problems tolerating most chemos, but found Vin the easiest one ever to cope with. Another lady I know, who can hack most chemos, found it knocked her for six and it was the only one to make her sick. One mans meat, another mans poison…
Enjoy your girly weekend - but lay off the fruit cocktails!
