Hello
I was diagnosed last Friday (son’s birthday) and now booked in for MRI next Friday. Bit apprehensive about the whole thing. Would like to chat/email with anyone else just diagnosed.
Thanks.

Hi Pinksunfish,
There seems to be a few of us that was diagnosed last week.
I am 39 and was diagnosed on the 25th. I don’t know the grade or my treatment plan as yet. Hopefully will know next week. I have had bone scan and chest xray which I was told yesterday was clear (such a relief). I had a core biopsy on lump under arm yesterday. So now its a waiting game for result of that. I have been told I will get a mx.
It still seems all surreal. Oh to have a nights sleep.
How old is your son? I have a daughter who is 18.
Wishing you all the best re results of mri scan.

Hello
Sorry you have found your way into this group of special people but you are now amongst friends who will help and support you as you branch off from normal life onto a little detour for the next few months/years.
I was diagnosed in May 2011, I am 55 with three adult children (32,25,22) two grandchildren (8 and 3) and a very supportive husband. I can usually be found in here in the dark dark woods thread (it’s a fun place to hang out) or the June treatment thread and the Taxotare threads. If I am awake early then I do tend to jump into new posts just to say hello and offer a very gentle hug, and a strong hand to hold if you ever need one.
Your life at the moment will be a blur of hospital appointments, tests, scans and words that you may never have heard before. Try to take someone with you to appointments if you can, a second pair of ears is always useful and get them to make notes! Try not to google life expectancy statistics as most are very out of date and you will scare yourself!
It’s a roller coaster that you never thought you would find yourself on, ups and downs, fast or slow. Eventually we will get off. One of my favorite sayings at the moment is “THIS TOO WILL PASS”
Keep the faith and if you have any questions just ask. There is no such thing as a silly question xx
Thanks SuperTrouper. What sort of treatment have you had?
Thanks AnnG. I am 47 and have two sons, 11 and 7 and haven’t told them yet. Work have been fab and told just me to let them know when I need time off etc. What sort of treatment have you had?

Sorry Anng, just reread your post and I see you are waiting now for more results. I am getting grips with this forum and didn’t realise I could see the comments made!
Take care.

Lol it took me a while to get to grips here too :o)
Think I double posted quite a few times!
Hope your well.

Hi Everyone
Anng - how are you getting on? After my MRI I needed a further biopsies (4 needles - eeeekk!) and now waiting to see consultant on Wednesday 16th Nov.
Supertrouper - how about you? Are you having treatment at the moment?
Hi I was also diagnosed on the 28th. I am having an MRI on 17th Nov and then see my consultant for treatment plan on 28th Nov… all I feel I am doing is waiting. I have talked things through with my 16 year old daughter and she is taking it well but I am being super confident infront of her.
How do you stop thinking about it?
Best wishes everyone.Suzanne
