Diagnosed Last Week with BC

I’m mum of two (15 & 17yrs) married with a lovely husband and 46. I was sat devestated in front of the Dr last Tuesday who told me I have stage 2 BC in the right breast with lymph gland involvement. They tell me the lump is 4.5cm and this morning I have had a marker or coil put into the middle of it so that they can monitor how it shrinks after chemo. Only then will it be removed and then I can have reconstructive surgery. Has anyone had this done. I have mostly heard of massectomy then chemo. Can tell you I am sooo petrified. Start chemo in two weeks and dont know what to expect. Im a horse riding instructor too so now my business has to go as I can’t risk getting hurt and the risk of infection around the yard. This thing has taken over everything and i’m really low. Does this feeling ever go away. x

At 43 I was dx on 28 Dec 12 with IDC grade III, 2cm, 0/2 nodes, ER+, PR+, HER2-. I had WLE & SNB on 17 Jan & am currently undergoing 6 x FEC chemo. My story is slightly different to yours however I belong to the ‘Undergoing Chemotheraphy February Valentines’ thread & one of our members is having chemo to shrink her tumor before surgery (with good results I believe). You should pop into and make yourself known and I’m sure she will get in touch.

I have found the support from other girls on here invaluable, so you are in good company. Feel free to PM me anytime or pop into our thread.
