I was referred by my gp after finding a lump in my right breast. Had a mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy taken of the lump and lymph nodes. I am having a WLE and ANC on 12th april. I have been told that there is lymph node involvement. Having bone scan and ct scan this week. Awaiting Herceptin level. Get all the results from the scans and the surgery on the same day as the royal wedding. I have come home from the hospital today and found this forum and feel so much more positive reading some of the posts.
hi, sorry you have to join us but this site is a godsend we can all relate to your feelings and the ladies on here are great you will get so much advice and support every step of the way from people who REALLY understand take care x
Hi
So sorry that you are in the same boat as us but glad that you’ve found us as it does help to talk to people who understand.
You are in the worst part which is the waiting - i too had all of the scans because my cancer is lobular and, although no more difficult to treat than ductal it hides longer so has more chance to get a hold - so i know the feelings that you are experiencing.
Best of luck and keep posting to let us know how you get on.
xx
Hi twinkleberry
Firstly, welcome to the forums, I’m sorry to read of your diagnosis, the first few days and weeks are always difficult when coming to terms with things and getting to grips with your treatment plans, etc.
I’ve given here the link to our Resource Pack for those people newly diagnosed. The pack is filled with information to help you better understand your diagnosis, test results and the various treatments available.

Also, do give the helpline a ring if you need any further support or information. They’re on 0808 800 6000. Open 9-5 Monday to Friday and 9-2 Saturday.
Best wishes Sam, BCC Facilitator
I too have recently been diagnosed with BC and mu op is also on 12th. April. Im having a WLE and sentinel node biopsy. Im still working full time so do not have too much time to think about it. However - every twinge I get now that previously went unnoticed is now a worry and I feel paranoid!!
I hope your op goes well - I`ll be thinjking of you.

Hi you must be feeling nervous and scared.Take a deep breath and start every day with a smile. I was dx on 3rd Feb, i had WLE, Sentinel node biospy then clearance due to results on the 18th March.i was told on 31st March they had clear margins but for some reason they took another sample of tissue away from tumour this has shown to be cancerous too.i am having a CT scan on 12th April to see if i have any secondary. I can understand only too well how you must be feeling right now.if i do get my results on 14th April this is my 27th wedding anniversary and my dogs ( Daisy ) 2nd birthday. I just dont want anymore bad news, i want positive news. if i have secondary i will have to start chemo soon, if i dont then i have to have a mx first followed by chemo then radio. I have a long journey but i know there are alot worse off than me.
Jion a group, i plucked up the courage to go to a macmillan group session that meets once a month. They were so welcoming , giving me lots of info offering help and support to appts should i need them.x take care
Sorry that you find yourself here Twinkleberry. Waiting is horrible but is honestly the scariest part. Once treatment began I felt like I was on my way to getting rid of this horrible disease. Best of luck with the operation and if we can do anything to help time pass or if you want people who understand what its like to talk to, we’re right here x
Yr right, waiting is awful. Ive hardly slept a wink and cant concentrate at work.
Imagination is working overtime!
Its 5am and Ive been up 2 hours. Im optimistic during the day but nights are not good. Well all come through it though!
Hi Tonibelle
I know exactually how you are feeling the waiting for the results is terrible. I was in the same position as you this time last year. Had a WLE and 6 lymph nodes removed for testing as I had grade 3 cells and 8mm was invasive. Fortunately know spread to the lymph nodes.
I am now feeling great after 6 FEC and 5 weeks Rads which finished in October.
Can’t believe a year has passed and I have had my first mammogram and it is all clear.
Hang on in there it is a tough road sometimes but you will get there, try and stay positive till you get your results.
If there is any way I can answer any questions or help you please let me know. This is a great place for advice from all the different ladies.
love Anne xx
Had surgery on Tuesday wle and anc. Dressings driving me mad want to itch all the time. Before going to surgery the consultant told me that my ct scan and bone scan were clear. This made me feel so positive. I found out that the cancer is TN and the one lymph node they knew about showed up on ct scan. Just hope for clear margins. Get surgery results on Royal Wedding Day so fingers crossed.
Hi all
Results after WLE & SNB. Ive looked up staging but wish I hadnt!
Looking forward to Thursday with mixed feelings! I need to know but afraid to listen ( a bit like watching those operations on telly with one hand over your face!)
Physio tomorrow, been doing exercises but arm quite sore. Reading the posts here is quite humbling, there are some very brave folk here.
Chin up everyone and thanks for the encouragement!

Hillary, you might want to bring someone with you to the results session, and either you or them write down what you are told. It is so easy to just miss things, so having someone else there to catch the bits you miss can be really helpful.
Make a list of questions you want answers to, so that you can refer to your list when you go in, and you can tick off the questions as you ask them and write down the answers. Also taking a moment to write down an answer can help to pace the meeting so you get the chance for things to soak in before the next question and answer.
Best of luck, it will be so much easier once you know the details of what you’re dealing with, and you’ll have the support of everyone on here to help you through whatever is facing you.
Thanks ChoccieMuffin
Telling me to write down what is said makies good sense but I wouldn`t have thought of it!
I know Ill be told the stage but apart from asking what that actually means, I cant think of anything else to ask?
Anyway, enough of me - how are you?
Thanks for the advice
