Hi, I’m also recently diagnosed and just joined the forum today. Had lumpectomy a couple of weeks ago but back in tomorrow for more surgery as they didn’t manage to get a big enough margin (either that or they like my boobs and want me in for another feel ha ha!). Like you I have invasive and I’ve to get chemo in a few weeks as well. Just want to wish you all the best. Will look for any future updates if you post any to see how you are doing. Barbara x
Hi faylouise, I’m sorry you are feeling scared and uncertain at the moment, but it is normal to feel this way. Seeing your oncologist today will help I think as they will explain the situation and what the treatment plan is. There is a lot to take in, and it all happens fast, but there are lots of us here who have been through the same or are going through it, so once you know what your treatment will be you can find others going through the same thing in the forums.
There are also lots of publications available here to download, my BCN gave me a lot that were relevant to my treatment and I found them very helpful. You will probably have a Breast Care Nurse to contact during your treatment, I found them fantastic and always phoned if I had any questions or concerns.
Good luck!

I have a diagnose of invasive bc grade 3. the lump is visible net to the nipple and today I saw the surgeon and saw the mri images on the screen. Lump is quite big and is under the nipple.
It is going to be a mastectomy.
They are giving me the choice of chemio before the op (hoping to shrink it, but it will still be under the nipple and still is going to be a mastectomy.
I have asked for a reconstruction at the time of mastectomy.
anyone has the same?
