diagnosed with invasive ductal breast cancer

hi i recently got told on 12th march 2014 i have invasive ductal breast cancer.the lump is the size of a baked bean (so fairly small ). a week before that i had a core biopsy and was just wondering if any one has the same symptons as me with the biopsy .i hate it done the 5th of march 2014 and 2 biopsys was taken .since the day after i have had a massive bruise covering half my right boob and a long lump where the biopsy was taken … the lump was never there before as the cancer lump got picked up from a mamogram and ultra sound and the doctor couldnt even feel a lump so i know this new long lump was there. i have been told it could be muscle healing ?? its a bit painful when i touch it and i ache under my arm too … i may be over thinking things just wondered if anyone else had the same, im due to see the surgeon on wednesday 19th march  willl deffo mention it to him .

Hi angel

So sorry to hear of your recent diagnosis.

I was very sore and bruised from the core biopsy too, it lasted for about two weeks (I have a tendency to bruise very easily). The long lump you refer to is most likely internal bruising from where the biopsy needle went in but best to mention it to the surgeon when you see him.

Hi angel77

so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I’m sure its an anxious time for you, I found that it got better once the results were available and the treatment plan was put in place.

I was also bruised and sore after the biopsy - just let the surgeon and the breast care nurse know, they are sure to put your mind at rest.

Good luck for wednesday xx
