Did hysterectomy affect your sex life?

Hello,

I’ve read that hysterectomy can have a detrimental effect on enjoyment of intercouse, and hope some of you can tell me if it caused problems for you or not.

 

I’m BRCA2, age 54, and having risk reducing ovary/tubes removed. I’m in a quandary whether to ask for full hysterectomy while they’re in there. The womb itself doesnt increase bc risk, but I’m thinking why not have it removed to prevent any future old lady problems, but the womb contracts on orgasm, so what with losing both breasts, I would not want to further deplete my sexual parts.

Any thoughts much appreciated, thanks.

I had a hysterectomy and removal of my ovaries last February.  i have found that the removal of my womb can make my orgasm more powerful ( contraction is stronger without the womb anchoring the bits left)…but, my lobido is much reduced due to having no ovaries so its harder work getting in the mood :frowning:
