I had a bilateral MX and DIEP flap recon 2 weeks ago (28/11)
Last abdo drain was removed on Thursday after 12 days.
PS says I need to watch out for seroma, but what is the difference between a seroma and ‘normal’ levels of abdominal tautness?
My tummy is very taut… I was exhausted yesterday and was not terribly mobile and it feels like my wound has constricted as a result. (I was able to stand pretty much fully upright since the op, but today am finding it uncomfortable)
Difficulty with post op recovery is knowing what is ‘normal’!
What does a seroma look/feel like?
(If this is seroma build up I need to go see my PS to get it drained, but he is 1.5 hours from me up in London. Have had major logistical issues as a result of not getting op done locally, but they don’t do DIEP at my local hospital so I had to travel
