Hi all, I had my masectomy with immediate diep reconstruction a year ago and recently had phase 2 to make a nipple and slightly reduce diep breast and lift good side. They looked amazing for about 6 weeks - symmetrical and equal heights and size. However now my diep breast has changed shape, becoming swollen and mis-shapen. It can’t be weight gain as I haven’t gained any and its only been a few weeks. Could this be lymphodema?
My normal breast was given a lift, but its dropped about an inch lower than diep. When I wear a bra, if i lift my arm up, my breast comes out of the bottom.
I have had 5 surgeries and now I’m worried that I’ll need another. Has anyone had a similar issue.
Thank you
Hello,
I had a delayed breast reconstruction. DIEP and uplift of other breast about 7yrs ago. What you are describing doesnt sound right to me. I would contact the breast surgeons secretary…..theyre very good at getting messages through to surgeons and chasings. Id also contsct your breast care nurse. They need to see you to examine you.
its true that both breast do drop a bit especially for an older lady like myself but they should both be level.
I do wonder if your new breast may hsve an infection. Is it sore or hot to touch?
Im not sure what you mean about it falling out at the bottom.
Ask to be seen. X❤️

Thank you @waveylocks. I have already arranged to get seen. There’s no infection. It’s more like lymphodema. I’ll have to see what surgeon says. The good side is now too low so the heavier, larger diep holds the bra up and in place, so slight movements with my arms above shoulder height, the smaller one just slips out below band because it is already 1 inch lower and about 3 inches less full. It’s very annoying. I can’t wear tighter tops. Thank you
Ahh I understand now….its ure bra the smaller breast is dropping out of the bra. 3 inches is a big differdnce! Have you tried adding padding to the smaller side to see if it stops it falling out. Glad youve booked back to see surgeon. Are you being seen soon? X
2 weeks time. I will try padding that side though…good idea. Thank you! X
