Hi ladies.
I was here December last year having found three large lumps in my right breast. My mum was DX breast cancer last year too and terminal upon diagnosis.
I had mammo and US and informed the lumps were cysts! Fantastic. Life moved on.
Today, I was drying my hair and noticed my left boob was a funny shape in the 5 o’clock position. My boob is rounded anymore in that area below my nipple. There’s about four dimples there when I lift up my arm. So, had a feel around and found two pretty solid lumps and one mobile one. I have a mobile on in my right boob in exact same spot so not worried about that. The two hard ones are my concern. It’s back to the docs st 8.30 in the morning and then, deffo referral to breast clinic (I won’t leave until I have it!).
I NEVER knew that dimpling could be a sign of breast cancer!! OMG! The only reason I booked the doctors was because I google breast simple on images and bam! Same as mine.
I know it’s probably nothing but my god, there NEEDS to be more awareness out there about dimpling!!! All I ever heard about was lumps and inverted nipples!!

Had an absolute nightmare at the doctors who actually refused to refer me!! She stated that I cannot get cancer from a dimple!!! And because she can’t feel a lump, there’s no chance of it being cancer!!
I could not believe what I was hearing!!
I contacted the hospital and spoke to a radiographer and a breast consultant and they were absolutely appalled! The contacted my surgery and put in an official complaint against the doctor (not my personal doctor, he was on holiday). The surgery Doctor Boss called me and apologised profusely and put the referall straight through.
No wonder women are dying of breast cancer because some doctors think they know best and have X-ray eyes!!!
Unfortunately, she had never met me before but she’ll never forget who I am after today!!!

It’s great that you’ve got an appointment through so quickly and well done for persevering. I’m horrified by how difficult it seems to be for some of you to get referrals. I have no discernible lump but pain, thickened tissue and a dimple/dent and my GP referred me immediately on the basis that something’s going on and she’s not qualified to say what it is. It’s exactly what I expected and can’t believe how difficult it’s been for some of you.

I’ve just changed surgeries due to the incompetence of my last doctor!! I was just stunned at responses I got!
I’m sure everything is fine and I’ve had a very busy weekend so I’ve not had time to dwell on things.
I will let you know what happens as I have read a lot on this particular forums where ladies join and after the results are clear, 5they never update to say so and it would be very beneficial for new joiners waiting for diagnosis to see that the vast majority are in fact false alarms and even more importantly, what the non cancer issue is caused by.

Hiya irina yep I’m driving myself up the walls to be honest I’m trying not to talk to much to my husband and kids about it don’t want to say it to much so dealing with it threw this site with you lovely people x I’m so happy they have done the right thing for you thank God I’m so happy for you your going to get the peace now without trying to fight for it I hope it all goes well for you x and I wil defiantly be on here to let you know how I get on xx

Thank you so much for your good wishes.
Hospital went very well. Had Mammogram and US and all clear! Couple of cysts by the nipple and nothing of concern at all. They did advise me to just keep an eye on the dimpling etc but doctor stated that part of my breast is ‘empty’ and part cause for the dimpling. The other is just general aging and things going south!!
So, one down and you two to go. I’m still going to watch your progress and will be sending my very good thoughts and best of luck wishes to you both.

Very relieved. The doctor who did the US was lovely but concerned me a bit as she was taking ages but was just being thorough!!
The radiographer who did the mammogram was the same one who I spoke to on the phone last week after my doctor ballsed up!! I gave her a thank you card with a few words inside for sorting things for me.
Very good experience for me but hard to be joyous at the time as another lady was diagnosed positive whilst there. Was terrible to watch her world crumble in front of my eyes and my heart truly bled for her and her son who was with her.
It’s a very sobering experience and I’m very thankful.
