DiproBase during Rads..?

Just had my first zap today and they told me to wash using Aqueous cream, but to use Diprobase Cream twice a day as a cream on the skin, rather than Aqueous. Has anyone else had similar? Most women seem to only be told to use Aqueous, so I’m curious.

When I had my rads I was given the same advice as you and had very little redness or soreness at the end of the treatment.

Hi Julie I was given diprobase cream for my hands and feet when I was having tax chemo,my hands and feet were very sore and the skin started to peel,it was very soothing and really made a difference.I didn’t think to use it on my boob through rads, might be a good idea.I just used the aqueous cream and didn’t have any major problems.I still use diprobase 2+ years on as since chemo my feet are very dry and crack.

Best wishes Melxx

Ooops posted twice lol

Hi Julie, I have had my first rads today as well. Not had Diprobase mentioned to me, do you need a prescription for it or can you buy over the counter? Good Luck. Karen xx

Thanks for getting back. Mel, my feet are lousy after Tax too - hadn’t thought of using it for that, so that’s a great tip!

Sounds like Diprobase is maybe a bit stronger than Aqueous? I’m having a bolus to bring the rays closer to the skin surface as my tumour was quite close to it. Maybe that’s why they’re suggesting it. Was that the same for you Lyn?
