Hi Dawn

How are you? Seem to of lost the thread that I was chatting to you on. My brain just recently has been terrible - no hope for me on chemo then!!!

When is your next chemo? Did you recover from your housefull on friday and did you have a good week-end.?

It was nice to have some sun - so we made the most of it - went for a 3 hour bike ride and our 5 year old managed well without stablizers - in fact think she is faster than me!!!(mind you that is not hard). The three year old sits in seat on back and back seat drives!!! Typical male!!!

Any exciting plans for the week? I have pre assessment this week and more blood tests prior to surgery 28th. The highlight of the week - oh how things have changed!!!

Really must head for bed - look forward to hearing from you.

Take Care, Love

Anne

Hi Anne

Am OK thanks, yeah Friday was bit hectic, as had my friends little girl til 4. Her mum had a boy, which we knew, but had to have emergency section, 55 mins after arriving there, and general anesthetic. But both ok.

Got my 3rd chemo tomorrow - last FEC, then onto taxotere. Supposedly gotta have ultrasound sometime soon, onc we saw last week said anytime after this chemo session, but not heard yet. Not doing scan on my liver til end of chemo.

Keep thinking we should go out on bikes and get a little seat for Jack to sit on - he was 10 months last week, has gone so quick and he really doesn’t want to be a baby!! Sophie is 3, 4 in December and has stabiliser. So would be a slow trip. Off out at 10.20 to look at a nursery for Jack, as thinking of putting him in 2 mornings a week, while Sophie at school. She goes 5 mornings now and as only started back yesterday has cried both times I drop her off - so hard, as makes me wanna cry. But she is ok after 2 or 3 mins apparently. Just rang them now and she is fine.

Weekend was OK, although didn’t really do too much, hubby worked saturday and went to feed Ducks on sunday after Jack woke up in afternoon. I am pretty knackered come about 4pm most days, and now school is back up and out by 9am. So much fun. Can’t believe you are still up and on computer at 11.30 at night, I am well sending out the zzzzzs by then.

I hope your preassessment and blood tests go Ok this week - bet you are getting a little bit tense about op, but reading everyone’s things on here you will be fine.

Lovely to hear from you. Take care and let me know how things go. Will let you know how am tomorrow too after chemo - but it is not til 1.30, as picking Sophie up from school and then dropping off with a friend, while Grandad looks after Jack, and he should sleep most of it.

Take care

Hi Dawn

Glad you had a nice quiet relaxing week end. (not sure if you can put relaxing in the same sentence with two children under 5!!!
I get great support from the posts on here and I am sure I will get nervous nearer the time - but just want it to happen so that I can then get on with the chemo.

Good Luck with the chemo tomorrow - hope it all goes well and you feel ok.

Sounds like a mini adventure to sort out child care let alone having the chemo. Does your husband come with you for the chemo?

We have no family living near us - so will need to get organised when we get the chemo dates.

Take Care

Dawn

Good luck with your chemo tomorrow, will be thinking of you.

Hi Anne and Kim

Anne, we don’t have family living near by either. Grandad lives in France, and has been staying with us, but I now need my house and space back, so think he is going home around the weekend, well gonna ask him. He has been here probably near on 8 weeks, apart from a 10 day return to France and a couple of nights at my sisters, and starting to get a bit strained between us. I know he is only here cos cares etc, but 24/7 is a bit too much for that long.

My friends help out with Sophie and Jack most of the time. Hubby comes with me to chemo sessions, as they recommend not to drive after, and it is nice to have someone there anyway. You will be OK on chemo, think after the first one and you know what is going to happen it is ok. And at least then you know you are doing everything possible to treat the cancer and hopefully stop any spreads. Mine are every 3 weeks, so know the dates from the beginning. So not too bad to organise things.

Kim thanks for your wishes for tomorrow. I am ok I think, but probably deep down a little bit nervous and tense, in case for any reason my blood count is low or something.

Will let you know how I am after. Appoint. at 1.30 so no doubt won’t be home til nearer 4.30/5.00 after picking Sophie up too.

Take care

Hi Dawn

Just scrolling down the threads and arrived here! How are you my sweet, what a lot of pressure and stress we all have at the mo. I will be thinking of you tomorrow and wish you well. I never had chemo so don’t know what its like, had the zoladex injections instead, always said if I did though I would paint funny faces on my head each day to let everyone know my mood - don’t know if it came down to it if I would though.

I think you are so brave and courageous, continuing with your daily life as you do whilst on this treatment. Think the same for all the other girls in this situation too.

Hope to talk to you some time tomorrow. Have a successful day, won’t say have a good one.

Love K

Hi Kelly

Posted on your other thread too. Thanks for wishes for today, getting a little nervous now, but know will be OK. Hope you are OK today after yesterday, and just to let you know thinking about you.

Take good care and catch up later

Hope all went well yesterday, and you are feeling OK.

Hi Kim

Am OK thanks, yesterday went OK, as usual, but feeling a bit knackered today have to admit, and so gonna take it easy and not go out now, cos when out with Baby Jack, I get NO rest, as he is crawling, standing, and eats anything off the floor he can find, so easier to be at home. Not got too much energy. Had my tablets though, so hopefully be like I usually am after chemo, with no side effects to moan about really.

Half way through now - gone so quick I have to say, and next chemo session is the dreaded taxotere on 10 Oct.

Hope you are OK today too. What you up to.

Speak later. Take care

Hi Dawn

Good to hear you are doing OK, it must be so difficult to take it easy with 2 little ones, you should be very proud of yourself, I find it hard running around after a 12yr old and 17yr old, sure I wouldn’t of managed when they were younger.

I have been out for lunch today (eating again) with a girl I have met through the chemo treatment, she is about a week behind me, it is great swapping stories.

I am just off to see my GP as my chemo arm has suddenly today become very swollen, it has been painful since last chemo, but the swelling has appeared this afternoon!!! Hoping it is all OK so that I can have chemo number 3 next Tuesday.

Take good care and rest as much as you can.

Hi Dawn and Kim

Dawn glad your chemo went ok. It must be quite difficult having someone living with you for 8 weeks. My mum is coming up whilst I am in hospital to look after the children and keep them i their usual routine, then when I go home husband off to look after us all and mum going home. I am not good with people invading my house for too long. Do not get me wrong I am very grateful for all the help but just need my space. Mum will come back when I need her - lives about 2 hours away as do all our family.
The families are going to take it in turns to come up for a few days over chemo to look after children etc.
At least the children keep us busy - not sure what state I would be in without them.
Hope you are resting as much as possible.

Kim hope your arm is ok. Did the GP say what he thought it was.

Take Care, Love

Anne

Hi Anne and Kim

Good to hear you are both OK. Kim, my arm flared up last week, just on the opposite side to elbow, on inner arm if makes sense. Became really tender to touch and was a little bit puffy and swollen. Managed to get them to use my left arm this week to give that one a break, so that is good news. Hope you got on OK with GP and she said it is just due to the drugs going into your veins, have read that quite a lot on here.

Anne, yeah ditto with relatives staying too long. Grandad off to sissys tomorrow, she lives about 1 hour away now, and staying there til next wednesday then here til 3 Oct and then going home, although he doesn’t really seem to want to. And I know he wants to be near, but we need our space back and actually think my daughters behaviour is so much worse since he has been here, plays up more.

Feeling really knackered today, although normally don’t get out of my pit til 9.30 day after chemo, but was up with jack at 7.15 and then Sophie to preschool at 9.00, so not had much rest in the morning.

Ahh thats enough about me dribbling on. Hope you got on OK Kim, let us know and Anne you take good care of yourself too. And yeah the kids do help us fight on and stay stronger.

Love to both of you

Hi Dawn and Anne

Yes GP says to do with the chemo, hope it settles as they can not use my right arm for chemo, as I had lymph nodes removed on R side!!!
Did your inflammation take long to go down?

Take good care of yourself, and take as much time as you can to relax.
