MX in March, RT April-May, now on Tamoxifen. Starting to discuss recon with PS and am all at sea.
Yes I want a recon.
Yes, because I am active (full time job repping (including driving), sailing and life!) I will have a DIEP or TRAM subject to blood supply (not an LD and not enough of my own skin available for an expander).
BUT
I had always hoped that when the re-con was done I would go a size or two larger - having always been an A cup (and that on a fat day), going to B or maybe even C was compensation for BC!!
Questions:
Has anyone had a DIEP/TRAM and an implant on the same side? My PS is not keen - he will make the recon as big as I want it using my own skin/fat and/or muscle, but not use an implant on that side.
If I go larger on my own breast with an implant what are the chances of (a) losing the feeling/sensation in that nipple (b) encapsulation?
Will the enlarged breast feel very unnatural to the recon one?
Any experiences or thoughts shared will be appreciated.
