Do I Need a Flu Jab this year?

I have now had my flu jab. I asked about it at the surgery and they said I was down for it anyway. Glad I did. x

You should have a flu jab, and you don’t need to pay for it as if you’ve had chemo you are immunocompromised so are in the target group.

I had mine and had no side-effects from it at all, not even a sore arm afterwards - what a refreshing change from all the other medication this year has dished out to me!

Hi, I had my flu jab last week I’m aged 43 but because my immune system is compromised from chemo they offered me the jab, which I am very pleased to of had, and like chocciemuffin I did’nt even get a sore arm or any SE thankfully.

Well done for sorting it out Chrissy.

For anyone wondering about flu jabs when on chemo… I had a free flu jab at my GP surgery when I was having chemo (aged 47). My onc advised when in the 3-weekly chemo cycle it was best to have it done. I also had a free swine flu job which was available that year. My GP also arranged free jabs for my husband that year too as if he’d brought flu/swine flu into the house it would be a risk to me. We haven’t qualified for freebies since but just pop along to Asda and have them done. £7 spent on something that could prevent me feeling cr*p for days is £7 well spent as far as I’m concerned.
