Hello,
I was diagnosed 6 weeks ago with Primary Breast Cancer Ostrogen receptor positive lymph nodes not affected grade 1. I will start radiotherapy after xmas and Tamoxifen, I was told yesterday there is a possibility I may be advised to have some chemotheropy. I’m a bit confused why I might need it. Any idea?

Hi It could be if your tumour has been found to be her2+,( herceptin is given along with chemo) they often dont know this until after the tumour is out or sometimes if you are very young some oncs opt for aggressive treatment anyway particularly if the tumour was large. I would give your bcn a ring and ask her to talk you through it.
