Hi Foxie,
You are a year ahead of me, I struggle with my legs, stiffness, pain, heaviness and tired. It is so very difficult and I now understand why people weigh up quality of life and whether to carry on with Letrozole.I will carry on as I am too frightened to stop but I wonder how much more I will deteriorate and how I will cope.
Best wishes to everybody!
xx
Hi, I have been on hormone therapy (Letrozole then Anastrazole) for almost 7 months and amongst other side effects my joints have gradually become more painful especially feet, ankles, hips, arms and hands. Decided today to stop taking meds for about six weeks and see if I improve. Not taken this decision lightly but I feel so awful and need to know how much of this is due to hormone therapy. xx
Hi I had mastectomy in sept 14 followed by chemo and rads, then tamoxifen. Suffered terrible sweats, changed to anastrazole - still awful plus joint pain.
I chose to stop taking all drugs in July 16. It’s taken 6 months for sweats to dramatically reduce BUT I’ve still got joint pain - big toes, knees, hips, back, elbows and hands/wrists!
I’ve had steroid injections in toes, thumbs and back - the relief lasts about 5-6 months.
So as I’m no longer taking the drugs I wonder what is causing the pain? Perhaps it’s because chemo followed by hormones have thrown me into menopause (47 at dx) and this is what the future holds for us?
Yes! I have been taking anastrozole since September and some days it is horrendous :(. I take amitriptyline an the strong cocodamol which helps but I am like an old lady!
