Thank you everyone for your great comments. Its certainly brought up a number of issues!
- How many people with an unknown tumour donate in Britain each day?
- Why do they allow people who have had cancer/chemo to donate in other countries after the ‘5 year’ period (e.g. USA)?
As I originally posted, my main aim was to try and highlight the need for people to donate if they don’t already.

I think my saddest moment of diagnosis/surgery was phoning the blood people and them telling me I couldn’t give again. I cried and squirrelled the card in one of drawers… I can under stand them not wanting you for while after chemo but imthink they are daft once you’re clear to refuse you.
