I have the brca 2 mutation so opted for a double mastectomy with immediate silicon implants. One boob is fine but the other, where I’d had breast cancer and radiation, is very angry.
Firstly, it tried to expel the implant, so the implant was removed and an expander put
In…but low and behold that op has gone tits up too. My boob is red, swollen, sore. So my expander will have to be removed. Just great!
Now my options are:
Tissue removed from tummy and a new boob created
Or
Nothing
Personally I want to get on with my life. I’m so fed up with it all. But equally I want to do the right thing for my future.
If anyone can steer me towards a decision I’d be so so soooo grateful.

I have also had a double mastectomy and have implants…fortunately I didnt need radiotherapy so had the implants put straight in. I had cancer in my right boob and had the other removed because of family history but i am getting problems in the boob that was cancer free…swollen, painful etc, in hindsight I’m not sure i would have had implants. sorry your op hasn’t turned out well I hope you get things sorted. I do know ladies who have had reconstruction using the tummy and they are happy with the results.
