Dr Peter Harvey

Thanks Dahlia for the link. I think its a brilliant article. It clarifies the meaning of positive which is so good because many of the debates on this forum have got heated mainly because being positive is equated to being cheerful and happy. It is so much more. He also explains that being frightened is OK and not a sign of weakness. All in all a very good article. thank you

Thank you Dahlia

Yep, these articles are about quality and not quantity. We know we can read all kinds of anecdotes but I think an objective but informed view can be worth such a lot and Peter Harvey is particularly insightful. I might try and find out if there are other articles he has written which are NOT currently available online.

Great articles - thanks Dahlia. Very informative, logical and explains a lot.

Just bumping this up for those who want to read the articles by Dr Harvey.

They are very helpful, I recommend them.

Love, Ann

Just bumping this up for those who’ve just finished treatment.

FYI …

Peter Harvey has retired and the National Conference of Self Help Groups does not have any more of his article in their archive. Boo hoo …

I’ve Googled and looked on Amazon and can find nothing further but might approach Leeds Uni. to see if they have something - he was working there in '99.

Reg.

I was in contact with Dr Harvey in January of this year and he’s looking to expand and re-write this article which he said he hopes to finish by this Autumn and to publish it either as a book or electronically.

Hope this helps.
