Driving for treatments

I checked with my BCN and Research Nurse . Both said I should be able to drive there and back . I spoke about it to the Radiographers while I was there as well and was never told that I shouldn’t be doing it. However I stayed with a relative otherwise it would have been 90 minutes either way instead of 40 and that probably would have been too much.

I didn’t have chemo but would not have driven with chemo

You should be able to though the advice given re antihistamines for Paclitaxal is valid… however, the whole thing is an emotional rollercoaster and you might feel distracted rather than ill or tired.

I’d explore the options suggested here. Good luck, you will get through it. :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi , i had radiotherapy after surgery for breast cancer and felt fine afterwards, it just made me a bit tired . I went with my daughter the first couple of times just to see how id feel but after that i went alone . Good luck .

Hi
Although I feel well enough to drive after chemo, there is alcohol in the chemo so I’m not allowed to drive.

The problem is if you have an accident even if you consider it is not your fault you may very well be liable both in the law and certainly with your insurer - insurance companies are very quick to pick up on any way to blame and reduce their expense
