I feel for you. The waits are agonising and it’s difficult to stay positive all the time. Wishing you lots of strength!
I’m good - I’ve learned how to do my own daily lymphatic massage and wear a compression sleeve. I’m quite slim and I hide it with long sleeves and wear fake tan on that arm in summer (I swim regularly so one white arm looked a bit funny!) I am tolerating Anastrozole well but have to be careful with my weight as it started to pile on around my tummy. I stay fit, drink good wine, and laugh a lot. I was fatigued for months after 5 radio sessions - it’s a lot of Gs at each session, but it’s coming up to my 3 year anniversary and I feel well. Let me know how you get on Alex2
I had a lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy 2 days ago so was interested to find this thread. It came as a bit of a surprise that ladies were saying it was taking some time before they were driving again. I thought it would only be 2-3 days and I would be good to go. I have been lucky that I have very little pain but I think I need to be a little more patient before moving on. Thank you for helping me to realise this. Hope everyone is recovering well
Hi Amanda, glad you’re recovering well. My lumpectomy and SNB was on a Monday (20th Nov) and I was driving short distances from the Saturday. It really is dependent on the individual. I’m still a bit numb under the about area but no pain now thankfully. I’m now waiting to hear. Have they said how long it will be before you receive your results?

Hi Alex. It’s going to be a bit of a wait unfortunately. The date I’ve been given is for the 2nd week in January probably due to delays over Christmas. It will probably be more worrying if they bring the date forward. Hopefully your results after surgery were favourable and everything is going well. Take care
You have to be careful driving earlier than a medical professional has advised as your insurance will be invalid if you have an accident.
Unfortunately, they all told me something different! Physio told me two days. Registrar said “few days” and the consultant said it could be up to 2 weeks!
I’m having a lumpectomy, AICAP flap and sentinel lymph node biopsy this week & was told I can’t drive at least until after the post op check up 2nd week of January
