Due to have my last two week cmf in Oct

Hi anyone

I dont know why i didnt do this earlier in my treatment feel like i need some support from those who are going through it rather than the onlookers. Feeling very emotional looking forward to finishing (got my last two on 12th & 19th Oct) but dont want to do it again. I had 4 EPI’s and 4 CMF’s but feel cheated when its described as 4 cos to me its 8 so i lable them 1a and 2a etc. Its so long drawn out, and im frustrated cos I cant be the wife and mum i want to be.

Well done girl! It’s normal to feel emotional when approach the end of your treatment and you can see some light at the end of the tunnel. Have you got to go through radiotherapy or anything else? In any case, think of it as a great milestone achieved, and make sure your treat yourself to something nice when you’ve finished, maybe a nice meal with your family or whatever makes you feel good!

Hello Flush puppy. I had my last CMF tablet (well its the F of CMF isn’t it) 10 days ago and am so relieved. It does seem a very long haul, doesn’t it but you’ll get there! I know I felt the months of CMF looked SO long when I’d finished the horrible Epi. Do you know there is a thread called Anyone On Epi/CMF ? I have found this useful so you might like to look on there - lots of women who’ve been down this track or are still on it.

I’ve got a cold this week so not feeling really better but at least the horrid heartburn and general 'low grade shitty ’ feeling have gone!

Good luck - women on the other Epi-CMF forum say they feel great after about 10 weeks but its a steady improvement as you go along. My onc said it would take till Christmas to get my energy back to normal, but I hope to start feeling better when this cold goes!

Thanks Guys

Ive been in bed on and off for about three weeks feeling so low, tired and desparate, got a temp, sent for bloods (nutropenic dont know if thats how you spell it) fortunately they gave me two lots of antibiotics and let me go home, just told me to keep an eye on my temp and take paracetemol to control it. No wonder i was feeling low.

Havent been able to take my 6 yr old to school for ages. Took her this morning it felt so good to be out and about again and feeling much better.

The last cmf took me by surprise I wasnt expecting to feel so bad, so for the last two 8a and 8b, as i call them weve called in the troops our vicar is organising a meal rota, my two older kids 12 and 14 are going to stay with their dad for a couple of weeks and weve asked my family to come over more often to help with my youngest and the house work. Prepared for the worst but hopefully this wont be the case. Four weeks from today i should be feeling how Im feeling today - just got to grit my teeth and get on with it.
