Willow Foundation Hi Guys!
Just wanted to let you know about the Willow Foundation. They do special days and will pay for a day out or treat - which is fab. I had a trip to London with a show and dinner at Gordan Ramseys restaurant. They paid for travel and hotel aswell. It was so brilliant to have a treat to look forward to after treatment and not have to worry too much about expenses. All the people at the foundation are absolutely lovely and were a pleasure to talk to. Just thought I would let you all know and maybe you can sort out a nice little treat for yourself.
Take care sweeties!

Just to say hi! I was 28 when I was diagnosed, I am 30 this year and completed my treatment after a year stretch just before Xmas. Just to re-assure you that there are loads of us 20 somethings out there - and we are fighters that will come through this!!!
I’ve got so much to look forward to and intend to live life to the full and enjoy every minute of it.
Good luck to you, it won’t be easy but you will come out the other side!
Sorry I am late in adding to the post - but better late than never.
I am Dawn and was diagnosed in NOV 06 at 29 (feels like a lifetime ago). I have had lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy and have just had my 2nd of 4x EC and then onto 4Xtaxotere. Will then go onto radiotherapy. Doing ok so far i guess.
Don’t know if anyone has mentioned the “other site” - it took me a while to get on but its a real great way to talk to other “babies”. Pop along and you can chat with other young uns there 9pm on wednesday evenings in the babies chat room.
Its really been a help to me to know there are other young girls out there as well… would love to get to know you all here too as it can feel so lonely.
Just been looking over all your profiles and pictures, and can’t believe how breast cancer can touch such a group of normal, pretty girlies!!
Sarah (sariefarie) must say your photo is sooooo beautiful. A real inspiration to me as I am currently going through the paniful chemo hair loss and its coming out in chunks! Can’t beleive how fine about it all I am though… it might have something to do with a 100pound shopping spree I had in accessorize to get hats and scarves and a few impulsive wig buys. Now can’t wait to get on with enjoying all my purchases!
Any top tips on how to look so fabulous “au-natural” would be greatly recieved… i really want to be proud and embrace it but not sure how I will look yet.
I too am keeping a blog (any idea how i could find out how to look at all your blogs too without posting addresses on the forum?? really interested to see them)
I’ll try & get onto the ‘other site’ - have tried before but it didn’t work… are you the same user name on there? Have found keeping a blog has really helped me!
Noticed on your profile you are from Leeds - did you go to the wig shop in the arcade next to Victoria Quarter? Thats where I got mine from, they were so lovely when I went in
I am sure you will look gorgeous when your hair goes, - took me a while to embrace it & be comfortable not wearing scarf / wig / hat but now I go to work au natural. And you are prepared - I had an accessorize splurge too! When mine started to come out I went & had it clippered off at the hairdressers - don’t know if it is something you have thought about but I found it far easier to deal with than have to keep pulling it out every time I tried to brush/wash my hair.
My top tip would have to be to wear glam makeup - make your eyes stand out!
hey dawn Hey dawn welcome to our gang…my display name is’ the walking problem’ (do ya like it)i havnt been blogging but will be good to read urs and keep in touch u can find sarah through me, hope u get this b4 it gets edited, muchos love nic xx
hello, I’m on myspace now (somewhere else to go and waste lots of internet time me thinks!) so I am looking forward to coming and saying Hi soon.
I am off on a “Look good feel better course” tomorrow which I am so excited about, so I will come and let you girls all know how many make-up freebies I have come home with afterwards It will be my first public outing where I will have to do something about my head… not sure what I will throw on :-/
Nic - just thought I would pop on & let you know I have my rads tattoos now - they were painless & really are very tiny!
Dawn - my site name is sarie fairy again so try looking me & Nic (the walking problem) up.
Hope you enjoy the course today - I’m sure you will look great whatever you throw on.
I remember my first public outing after I had my hair cut off - I went to Asda in a headscarf, hoping to just quietly pick up a few bits & pieces. Well something didn’t detag properly so all the security alarms went off as I tried to leave the store!!! You have to laugh
Hi Gang! Alright me girlies?
Just a quick post to let you know I had my inflation yesterday…all went very smooth and I now have a boob the same size as the other one…feels great to have a bit of the puzzle put back!
Going back for another ‘pump up’ in two weeks - feel like I’m 12 again and watching my boobs grow - all very weird but in a good way. Hope the chemo is going ok…hang on in there not long to go now…thinking about you all…I’m gonna have to get myself on myspace - feeling a bit behind the times…
Bye for now

I just wanted to say hi to all and say that i am another 20 something with breast cancer.
I was diagnosed in dec 06 also, at the age of 24, the youngest person that my doctors seen in 10years. i’m currently undergoing my chemo, when that finishes i’ll be getting my surgery.
I’m new to these forum’s and i’m not sure if i’ve posted this right, but after reading all your great post’s and saw how upbeat you all were, i felt i had to say hey!
Hope the chemo is going well… you will know from the previous posts where else you can find us all chatting to one another so if you fancy joining us feel free!
Do you know yet if you need any other treatment after your surgery?
Thanks for the reply and the tip to look at the other places to join you talking. I took you up on the over and registered this morning.
Not sure yet if i’m due any other treatment, i don’t have a date for my surgery yet as i’ve still got 4 chemos to go till then. I’m hoping for an update this week as i have an appointment with my oncoligist.
omg OMG my post is back up top aain cant belive it. Glad u found it a help it certainly did me. Have met some amazing people that help me out along the way. (hey up there sarie farie). Hi all on this thread.
Thought I would post here again and see how Katey’s inflation has gone on. I am intrigued as to how it works… presume it is a gradual growing and you stop at your desired size???
and hello to vikki too (although I have already said hello to you elsewhere ;-D)
Dawn x
& its back to the top again! Grrr… I’m still having problems registering with ‘the other site’. I dont know whether it is just the pc at home that doesn’t like it or something…
Hope all you girls are well… Dawn - your blog is great & you look amazing in your array of headwear!
Katey - how is the inflation? My left boob is inflating with the assistance of rads at the moment… suffering a bit of swelling!!
Hi Guys! Woop!..back to the top!
My boob is coming along great - thanks for askin…I have gone from a very flat mastectomy to I would say a good b cup now!..think I will stop when I get to a c cup - so easy to get carried away!..it has made me feel so much better about myself and I’m looking forward to getting the backless tops out again!..after I have reached the right size for me I just say stop - then I have to wait 2 months for everything to settle down…then I will have the tissue expander swopped for a permanent implant and one to match on the other side…they are ‘buy one get one free’ at the minute! ha ha ha…
Anyway…hope you are all doing ok…how is treatment going?
Hi ladies,
my name is Nadia, I was dx on 16th March 2007- ages 26. my mum had ‘it’ 2 years age, so i was expecting something to crop up in my lifetime, but just not now! I am new to this wonderful website, but i have found everyones comments so encouraging and empowering, i really feel positive about things. i am still scared but just being able to listen to other poeple experiences is brilliant. thankyou to Sarah who invited me chat with you. As with many of you my main concerns are hair loss and fertility issues. i am getting used to the hair loss idea, I will cross that bridge when it comes to it. I go in for lumpectomy on the 29th, so waitin to hear more from the docs about fertility treatment.
Sarah just wanted to say how beautiful you look in your profile pic.
