Kanga, the handsome fella is my little boy. he took the pic in the office yesterday (boss was out) as I hadn’t got a pic of me sans wig.
I have actually got an appointment with my hairdresser next week. I called in this morning, whipped off the beanie hat and asked her if it was worth her while taking the scissors to it. she said oh there’s a “dusting”, thought I’d got a bit more than that!! anyway she’s going to sort out the wispy bits. I know what a modem is (you wouldn’t know would you as you can’t even get a photo on your profile!!) don’t hoover mine.perhaps Jackie’s gone to Blackpool to watch strickly!

Kanga, well what l meant about the celebrations of your anniversary, is that l would worry if l was counting my chickens! l have turned into a real worry guts!
Anyway talking of chickens, we use to keep lots of chickens when l was a kid! and it is something l would love to do now, trouble is what happens when they get ill, l asked my uncle who also kept chickens, he said “well you silly b****r you wring their necks and eat them” put me right off!!

Why would you not fly up to the North? my Aunt use to fly down from the North to London! said she couldn’t sit on a train or coach with all those people!! did ask if the plane had no other passengers,she just gave me one of her looks!!

Been out with dil today buying christmas presents, still lots to get, but we are getting there, son took children to see an old work friend, when he arrived home he said to dil, we have been given an early christmas present from work friend, with that he took a cheque out for four figures! Wish l had a work friend or even a friend who can afford to give me a cheque! Lol
Still have a real chesty cough, had to leave a shop this morning l was coughing so much l nearly collapsed! thought l was going to faint! think l need to do more online christmas shopping!

Sandra, hope you have a lovely day. I’m allotmenting today. my “hair” is bit confusing, it looks dark on top but fair at the sides, it was mousy brown before but does’nt seem to be grey, I am pleased to say, though I wouldn’t mind if it was-it’s MINE. there was another pic, I’ll put it on. daughter called round yesterday and we have arranged to go to the Christmas market in Manchester next Monday, probably a couple of hours is going to be enough for me. very generous gift for your son, must be a good friend.
Mis Behaving, I would love a calendar if it could be arranged.

Alright Sandra , I can hear you laughing from here , 20 years .I thought "modem " was the posh way of saying "madam " .Christmas markets are so much fun , the last one i went to was with my elder son when he wasliving in London , and there was one outside ( or nearby ) the V&A museum , I think there was an ice rink there as well , so evocative . Last time i was in Manchester was when younger son was at uni there .
You should be having a good time at your christening now Sandra , what with new nails and hair : Take some benalyn , you don´t want to be coughing during the ceremony , and if you try to hard to stop it you may well wet yourself . In fact if i were you , i would go equipped with Tena pads . Oh the joys of getting older ! My MIL was always going on about " oh you don´t want to get old , it´s miserable …etc…etc. " I used to say " but I do mum , I really really want to get old cos I´m not keen on the alternative ! " She was a bit of a moaner my MIl when i first met her she was 61 and seemed so old in her ways even then , and convinced she was´nt long for this world ,yet she lived to 98 in reasonable health .My mum who was very young in herself and up for anything only got to 62 . Still who said life was fair , we all know it not to be don´t we ?

What did you buy as a present in the end , I know you were debating about it a while back ? I suppose you can of course fly up north , but I would never , I would always drive , could´nt abide all that hassel at the airport just to sit on a plane for half an hour , for me it would´nt be worth it . No I think ´Jackie´s gone somewhere exotic , did´nt want ust o know in case we followed her ! So glad hre abcess has healed up in time for her holiday . I don´t like coaches ( or planes ) but i do love trains , but sooo expensive .

Hi Ladies, slapped wrist for me, sorry I have not been on for a few days, I have been trying to catch up with my course. I had a couple of weeks not doing much when I wasn’t feeling to good, and it is suprising how it doesn’t take long for you to get behind. I am just about caught up with it now. I had dentist twice last week also,one check up, and then two days later two fillings, and I have got to go again for another filling december 1st. I have had all these things done this last couple of years but I am still terrified of dentists. I have tried to keep up with some of the posts, but this thread is so popular you only have to miss a couple of days and your lost. Thanks Maria for this thread, it is so nice to come back after a couple of days and its like bumping into old friends. I noticed it is nearly up to another 100 pages wow. I hope Sandra has had a good day at the christening, your outfit sounds lovely, I love Jaques Vert (excuse the spelling lol)hope you nails are ok.I was interested in your post you said you had fostered a few children, if I had been with hubby when I was younger I would have loved to have fostered.
Aviril,I have read your post and I am so sorry about your latested diagnosis. You are really brave keeping it to yourself, I hope the party went ok. I hope they sort out your treatment soon and get control of this horrible disease for you.

Had a lovely christening day, Coby was as good as gold, not a tear from him, even when the priest tried to drown him! Think they get a bit too enthusiastic with the water!
Took lots of photo’s, but when l got home l found l had the setttings still on from firework night!! Hence dark and blurred!! Lol, peachy brain or what!! Anyway dil took some so will put one or two up for you to check out! Or you can go on facebook and have a ‘good’ look!!
Had a call from a ladies husband l was in hospital with back in March, he said she had an abscess under the arm where they removed the lymph nodes from, and was taken in as an emergency yesterday and operated on! Pity they didn’t treat out Jackie’s abscess with the same speed!! Thought it quite strange to get an abscess 8 months after surgery, but l will find out more tomorrow when l speak to her.

Today l went to collect my ‘new’ prosthesis, did l say while l was having hiya teardrop l was wearing my softie, and my back was so much better, so bcn arranged for me to have a lightweight one, 25% lighter! Why they do such a heavy one is beyond me! Who needs all that weight! Anyway made me half a pound lighter!! Yes l know not much, but better than nothing!
Oh yes and for those ladies who are having Herceptin, my new name for it is ‘the prince’ sorry Heather a bit late for you!! But for Carol, anyone else going on to Herceptin?
Will be glad to get this week out of the way, my nephews funeral is on Friday, and my poor mum is getting quite stressed. Did suggest that she didn’t go, but obviously she wants to, but if it going to make her ill! Obviously l have to let her decide, so will see how she is towards the latter part of the week, just don’t need the worry of her being ill at the moment. She was too upset to go to the christening, and not slept for three nights, said she just lays in bed watching the clock go round! Probably nods off, but obviously keeps waking up.
Did l hear someone mention snow by the end of the week on the weather forecast? Perhaps it is for those up North! Usually get it before us! Is it getting cold up there girls? Nice and warm down South!
