Hello Ladies,
I hope everyone is ok today.
I have just read Kris’s latest contribution and I reckon if she and Heather got together they would give Britain’s Got Talent a good run for their money!!!
I hope that you have had a good time on you holiday Vickie.
Maria, love the new wig it really suits you. How is that new kitchen comming along, are the builders still keeping you company or have you let them loose yet!
Sandra you should’nt be looking at those sites girl! You were the sensible one sorting my head out the other day!!! Thanks very much, I’m back to having a laugh at some of our ladies antics.
Suzi, I hope you are doing ok, sounds like you had a great party in the park EH!! Just read your news I think we all went on here together, take it easy, hope you find something you really fancy (to eat that is!) and have a lazy evening, best wishes.
Saffronseed, great to hear about the new hair comming, hope you are feeling well today.
Carol seems like your doing well with the new look wig.
It’s raining here in Cumbria today, I think it’s a good excuse not to do the garden, but I must get it sorted soon.
I hope everyone is having a good day today,

Best Wishes,

Isabelle xxx

Ladies I think you are all v.clever I cannot for the life of me figure out how to put a piccy on.I can usually given time figure this sort of thing out. eg. No1 daughter made me buy a garden hose last week as only a few days post op said I should not carry a watering can to water veg plants. Sure enough the diagrams bore no relation to the hose we had. I cannot concentrate on the written word anymore but with an axe, my best sharp kitchen knife and some pliers ( don’t ask) she had it fixed. I went out a short while ago to water and had just finished when the heavens opened still it will do it more thoroughly than I did and the lawn too.Still on the technical theme Kris talking scales how horrific why would anyone want them? Saffronseed its brill that you have new hair coming along. Carol glad that the new wig is cumfi. Sandra hope Toby is not too deprived of his greens. I have a surfeit of dandelion leaves i could send him.I see some of you ladies are in the north ( I am a northener in the south)My 4yr old grandson rang last week having been taken to Headingly to watch Lancs v. Yorks and was so informative about it and soooo excited, I can remember his father at a similar age being cricket and footie obsessed too. I miss them so much and am unable to make the journey and nor have I been able to with the chemo sessions either. Now my poor dil is pregnant and has the extremme sort of all day sickness, she spent last week in hosp on a drip ( same time as I was in) and I cannot go to help out which I might normally have done.Whoops I’m making myself weep. Stop it.Good luck to any of you having chemos this next week. Lol Jackie

Ok Jackie, going to try and help Lol!!

So upsetting when we can’t help out as we once did! know the feeling, that is what really upset me!
Where did you come from ‘up North’ my Mum comes from near Redcar, and where are you now? big move for you!
Hope the above was helpful, well l did try! xxx

Isabelle Yes l know, slap on the wrist for looking at sites l shouldn’t be looking at, always easy to help others! eh! xxx

hi everyone,

has taken me ages to catch up on everyones posts, but has been fun, plus i categorically will NOT risk the dodgy threads as really can’t be doing with more worry! thanks for the advanced warnings.

I have been away and had a lovely time. We had planned to go to llandudno for a few nights but there were virtually no hotel rooms , especially as we needed 2 interconnecting rooms or one family room as the boys are too young to let loose in their own room. When we stayed near Thomas land before chemo started, we had interconnecting rooms but our youngest managed to find a pen and draw on the sheets in his bed, and we got a note off the cleaning lady asking the occupants not to draw on the bedding. oops.

So we just had a long day in wales, then had fish and chips on the beach, then changed the boys into their pyjamas and drove home late. Then saturday morning we went to blackpool and stayed over at the haven site, where my hsbands uncle has a caravan. I was sceptical of staying in a caravan but, my god, it was posher than our house, and we spent the time trying to get the boys to behave and mot wreck the place! We had a lovely time thouhg, and came back via lytham st annes and played running up and down the sand dunes and finding dinosaur fossils…

Hope everyone is alright, can’t possibly remember everyone’s news to ask how we all are, but hoping you are well and for those on chemo week, not too ill.

Vickie

Hi Sandra Thanks so much for this. My next job is to find a photo and I will give this a whirl. Just don’t hold your breath.Vicki glad you have had a lovely time. Mobile homes are great now aren’t they This is setting me off again. My children were practically brought up on the sand dunes. When we moved here( Berkshire) we went for a walk alomg the Thames and on the return walk they said they hadn’t been there yet. When asked they said the dunes. Wot sort of place had we taken them to live in where there weren’t any sand dunes? They were 4 and 6yrs then.I originally came from near Oldham but moved to Blackpool via all sorts of other towns. Mm am starting to ramble. Managed to have a bath tonight, bliss, can’t manage a shower yet because of the dressings. I have found quite a hot lump, breast not axilla just outside of the edge of the dressings. I think it will be an inch or 2(?) above the wound. I feel OK not feverish or anything and other than the pinching from the drain have been reasonably comfortable. Am still awaiting appt to return for results so not sure who to call. Might try District. Nurse in the morning. Sorry thinking aloud LOL Jackie

yes just mention it to your nurse tomorrow, i had swollen lumpy bits all over near my wound and beyond it, after my wle, but has shrunk over time but still hard where the lump was, want to ask my oncologist about it next time tho pretty sure is just the healing taking place? I live in saddleworth.

Oh Vicki thanks that is a relief the hot lump is not near were the lump was ( although no one has ever been able to feel it)It doesn’t take much for the paranoia to set in.Saddleworth eh ? My late aunt used to live in Diggle.LOL Jackie

i figure that if they take the lump and surrounding tissue out then sew it all together to lookmas good as it does, then they must have to drag flesh round and pull and prod things into place from right around your breast?

still havent looked at the scary threads…

make sure you don’t, or you will need another holiday!! Not really that bad, just me! Lol! DONT LOOK!!! xxx

its like one of those wet paint signs, where you have to touch it just to check it is wet…

That is exactly what l thought when l put ‘DONT LOOK’ if you want to look do it tomorrow before you are going to be busy, and not before you are going to bed!! Don’t tell Maria though, she will tell you off!! and don’t come on here upset after!! Lol
xxx

still skipping it…

Hello everyone,
Thanks to everyone who says I look good. It makes me feel good any way. My camera is very gently with me and I am getting used to taking photos of myself.
As for my kitchen, I have two men in, making noise, so they must be working, but it is going to take 3 weeks in all !! So nothing exiting to tell. Oh, except my man was not amused that I had not bought a light fitting that I forgot to do last week and then didn’t have time… Goodness, if this is my only problem today I can hardly complain.
Post chemo: Feel OK but not great.
Hope everyone has a good day. Be strong
Hugs Maria
PS I hope I am not that frightening, with my comments about reading other threads. I’ve told you I’m very good at the theory. We are all guilty of these things.

Hi Girls , Ashamed to say but I´ve avoided the gym like the plague today , very naughty . I weighed myself first thing before I got dressed , eaten , breathed , but after you know what … stood on one leg and breathed out , well , it´s not gone up . So I figuered that the gym could wait until tomorrow , went shopping instead , sure that was quite energetic enough .
Yesterday was our dog Jacks birthday , he was five . Actually , it was also the day that we had to have our old dog put to sleep …stomach cancer . We did´nt know whether we wanted to have another dog , but when I found a staffie litter born on the same day , and one was a red dog which I´d always wanted we decided that it was meant to be and have never regrettedd that decision . So yesterday we said "cheers , we still love you " to Charlie , and "Happy Birthday " to Jack , and he had a piece of cheese and a couple of nuts which he loves . Wish i was so easily pleased . A decent meal out , at least one bottle of cava and loads of cards , plus lots of phone calls else I sulk .
Tors , my wle is very hard and knobbly , but then I´ve an abundance of scars . My stomach is like an envelope , ( and one thats not stuck down too well ! ) Hysterectomy scar is´nt too bad , but my appendicectomy one is huge , done when I was not quite two years old and looks like someone was trying out a new stitch . With the WLE it´s left my one nipple pointing towards my elbow ,( ok , I lie , my right knee ! ) it´s as if it´s fallen out with its opposite number . On the other hand I do realise how lucky i am to still have two , even if they don´t get on .
I lived in a caravan for two years when we first married ,and our elder son lived there . Actually as you say , they are quite luxurious , I often think I would´nt mind going back to one , at least it would mean that we´d have to get rid of someof the junk we keep carting around with us .
Like you Jackie I just cannot work out how to do things like move photo´s , I really need to sit down one day and just play with it and try to do clever things . Most of my friends can . I´d like to say that I´m clever at other things , and I´m sure i am , but i´m going to have to think about that , nothing comes flying to mind at the moment . I wish I had´nt written that , now it´s got me stumped , just what am i good at ?
Sorry girls , I´m off to think .
Kris
