slightly lighter pic…still need new batteries in camera… yes Heather I have my wig on:-) xx

Hi I will try to be quick whilst I have a connection lol.Several days of postto catch up on. Sorry i could not post to wish you well for 2nd FEC Sandra. Hopefully all is s still well with you to-day.Your poor little 3 legged dog how cruel is that? So pleased he has found such a lovely, happy place to live wih you.Yes What is all this about the different regimes of peachy mother? My Onc certainly had a lot on his hands with me when persuading me I needed chemo in the first place and when he wanted me to go straight on to surgery after 6 I said are you sure I have had enough chemo ( the BCN could not believe her ears)What is BGT I can only think of Big Friendly Giant and that can’t be it? Hi Billia have a whinge any time we will listen and support/ encourage you.Now fencing panels no probs have a man in the garden at present putting some up ( so eat your heart out Maria mine is fully dressed though)Pleased you got the rest of your tiles tho’Could feel atrip to Switzerland coming on as no male prescence in my life, apart from getting my kit off on a regular basis for all and sundry in a medical sense of course.Yes copy and paste of course I know that so why did I not do it? Oh Heather you do make me lol. But how sad was that tale of your earlier life? And still you come up with a great sense of humour. Just hope I don’t meet you on the pavement with you driving at 6mph towards me in a mobility scooter. Re the Dennis sweater sounds great but you missed out the tension square at some point? LOL ra-ra skirts and pom-poms, Mm.Sorry the Mugga scan was dire but hope you are Ok now.Vickie sorry to hear about your re-action to TAX and hope all is well now. Certainly friends are sorted from the chaff aren’t they, she might not have known what to say but the txt was insensitive to say the least.Isabelle glad you are on the way to getting results sorted great. Finally grasped, I think your relationships. Danjo a lovely flower pic is Bio oil also a growing medium?Suze hope you are OK and the veins and taste buds are Ok. So 2 tit-bits of news one literally. Finall having become so ill with the abscess on Weds high temp and aching all over rang GP on Thurs am and was given pm appt. No sooner had I put the phone down than it started to ooze from 4 places. Saw GP>practice nurse and dressings done back Fri for more doing my own today and tomrrow and back to her Mon, its so painful BUT late on Fri a BCN rang me to ask about it as she needed to update my BCN on her return from hols on Mon had a short chat. Then 2 hrs later @ 6.40 she rang back to check dates of my surgery(S) and having been told said that my pathology report was back and on the margins surgery on 26/6 no cancer cells seen))))))))))WOW I have been round the house like a whirlwind and starting on the garden soon as have felt in limbo and on hold you know what I mean Thanks for letting me share this Love and hugs to all Jackie

I don´t know whether to say "oh poor Jackie " cos of your nasty abcess or ,"great news jackie " cos of your margins . I think I´ll stick with the second , thats much more encouraging , and anyway the abcess will go one way or another , the relief when one bursts is unbelievable !! Thankfully yours seems to be on the ways out , the relief will be enourmous !
Well did i have a "Heather moment " today , or did I not ?
Was going to go up to the village to collect the post from the post office ( no home deliveries here ) and needed to go about 10am cos it´s only open for an hour and a half each day . Then OH decided he would like to come with me , so that took him another half an hour to get changed . I could´nt be bothered to wash my hair so I decided to spray the roots with dry shampoo .Shook the can vigorously ( as it said ) and sprayed liberally along the parting and generally all over , then went to dress . Came back and brushed it , it looked quite greasy , not dry like it should have , styled it and sprayed hairspray on it. Looked at the can ,“Calypso Insect Repellant Spray !” O M G !! OH laughed and said it would proberbly turn green .
Oh well , I´ve always said there were no flies on me , how right I was !
Did something like that many years ago . Just after the birth of my second son I had piles , ( would be more polite but cannot spell !) So I decided to use some cream which had to be inserted . Got the tube out of the bathroom and found the applicator and did the deed . The pain !!! Incredible burning sensation , I was crying , did´nt know what to do with myself . Had to run a bath and sit in it . Eventually I went and looked at the tube , I´d only used "Close Up " which was a brand of toothpaste , the one with “The white white smile that gets you noticed .” Did nothing for my piles !
Heather , you´ve bought a white skirt … living dangerously are´nt you . Don´t eat in it , drink in it , or go riding on your scooter in it , in fact i cannot think of a single place you would be safe in a white skirt . Anyone with any suggestions , answers to Heather please !
I´m not having chemo , but on letrozole I´m always running to the loo , and tired … I´m a dead loss in the evening .
Is it the germanic type of swiss that has no sense of humour , or the swiss in general Maria ? There´s loads of germans down here and they tend to be a bit humourless , they also have no idea how to queue , they think they own Lidel . The best thing is to pretend your german as well , just goose step down the asiles shouting "rous rous , "yodelling as you go . My OH ´s gran was german , so I´m quite good at taking the p when hé gets a bit arsey .
I think Vickie we have all at some time had “friends “like that …” ditch the bitch.” Are´nt some americanisms just the best !
Billa , it does´nt matter what you write or don´t write , you´re here and we´re all behind you , you´re entitled to feel down and depressed at times . You´ve been through a lot . We don´t always feel on top of things , some days up , and some days down .
Must go , my OH is cooking tonight , unfortunately I think I´ve been designated sous chef , so I´d better go and do some chopping , hey ho !
luvKris

Hello Ladies,
Well you made me cry Carol! Seeing those sweet peas? bought back so many happy memories, and for those that think l am going mad, my grandma always had sweet peas in her home, my granddad grew them on his allowment. And to this day l love the memories and smell of them.
so thank you for making me cry, but happy! xxx

Heather (green tea today)
I have load of white skirts, but l am safe with them, what a disaster you are, were you like it as a child, oh you must have been!

Sorry about that, put it down to the chemo!

Suze, no still a rubbish picture, put my glasses on but still not good, go and get a battery! ;o) xxx

Jackie, really pleased to hear you have clear margins! we love good news!
but what about this abcess? are they removing it, and if so when?
are you having rads next? you do confuse me xxx

Kriss, you sound as mad as Heather, no hope for you two! have no fears l will shout when l have had enough rude emails! my cousin and my friend in Aussie, are always sending me stuff, now l can return the compliment! xxx

I can’t believe it! (as Victor Meldrew would say) l woke this morning feeling absolutely fine, bit of a funny taste in mouth, but the sick feeling had gone, so had a busy day, been shopping in M & S l go in for nothing and come out with a trolley full plus clothes! mostly for grandchildren!

This afternoon l decided to give the freezer a defrost, so then l had to do the fridge, didn’t want it to feel left out! And this is the first time l have sat down today, must be those steroids.

Even little Toby has been having a good walk round today, l have to put a bit of wood by the step so he can come in and say hello! l didn’t know he was in turned round and tripped over him, not sure who was more shocked him or me, but he went scurrying out of the door, and straight into his house! thought he was safer l think! l did go and say sorry to him, but when he is grumpy he make a spitting noise, good job l just get the noise! and not the spit!

Well l have had a nice chicken salad, compliments of M & S and now l am going to have a dessert, yes compliments of M & S, l am getting so lazy. I do cook OH a dinner when he comes in, but the thought of cooking two is too much of a pain!

Lots of hugs and love to one and all
Sandra xxx

Sandra I want some of your FEC next time cos they don’t seem to put the sleepyness ingredient in yours lol…there’s a thought are all the Fec’s exactly made up of the same ingredients…oops shouldn’t have said that cos I know I will set off a new paranoiawave xx
Gld you’re having a good day Sandra…hope Toby is ok…he will have another wrinkle now from the shock poor thing x
Was in garden centre the other day and they had a little tortoise and a middle sized one…I was tempted but managed to go out without buying either xx I already set off too many trends with new fish tanks and shed painting xx

Jackie…congratulations on your margin results…great news. Hope the abcess heals soon…can you come and whirlwind round my kitchen please xxxx

Hi Everyone,
Jackie, great news about your margins, sorry the abscess is keeping your from celebrating properly. Have fun with your man in the garden, I’m not sure any Swiss man is worth the visit here, but the mountains are. My husband was British. I never managed a Swiss man, although plenty of my friends have.

Billia, write whatever you fancy, the rest of us do…
Heather, what we need is a photo of you in your white skirt, then you can take it off and keep it white in the wardrobe. I never buy white , it attracts chocolate and tomato sauce from no where.
Kris, yodel away. The germans do own Lidl. Swiss are strange, I live in the French speaking part, they are not as bad as the Swiss germans, but there was no way I would have taken a photo of my fit tile fitter. He was here again today, because he had not finished yesterday. Another new thing a “Heather moment” we have all had one, lets have a competition = Best “Heather Moment”
Sandra, I never knew tortoises were so interesting. However I am beginning to realise that your peachy mother or your steroids make you hyper active. You were the same 3 weeks ago
Suze, buying a tortoise now may well lead to a “Heather moment”, so well done for resisting. Love the new photo.

I had a lovely “video chat” with my older son who is still in US until tomorrow and then with my parents who are in their 80’s. Cooked supper with my new oven, great. Nearly burnt everything though, cos I had got so used to my old oven that took half an hour to heat up to its maximum of about 150° and now my new dish washer is washing the dishes. No more washing up in a hand wash bassin, youppie.
Hope everyone is well
Hugs Maria

Good evenig, ladies

Maria, don’t go getting your head too close to your new oven-you know what happens to wigs near ovens!
heather- I have a pair of white trousers-thinking of wearing them to a BBQ tomorrow, might be a mistake!

Sandra- sweetpeas arn’t difficult to grow-you could water them with your tears maybe!
I would love a tortoise, but our garden is’nt very escape proof, does Toby eat your plants as well as lettuce?
Jackie- grat news-can’t remember whether my surgeon told me what my margins were, all I took in was him saying the pathologist was happy that all the cancer had been removed.

Carolxx

Welll the fencing man has gone and it all looks lovley. I had always wanted a tortoise when I was a little girl but we always had cats. My last cat died 2 years ago. Meanwhile my Next door neighbours cat come round all the time and he is such a lovely boy as is his owner. Same age as my son and when his mother was over from the US she was keen to get my daughter/her friends involved with him but no go.Perhaps ‘Heather moments’ are a bit like blue eyed blonde moments? I will have to think of some between me and my daughter I think we may think of one.White skirt sounds like a disaster waiting to happen?Do you have a fan oven now Maria? If so they get so much hotter more quickly and wow a d-washer too great when can we all come over for supper? Suze sorry worn out now with cleaning and gardening am on for the ironing tomorrow tho’ ha ha.Kris lol with your hair Heather moment moral read what it says on the can? Sandra my abscess needs to heal then the surgeon says he wants to remove the sebaceous cyst which it started around. Really p****d off as no inf when I had chemo and rubbish WBC, I know I need rads but am wondering if my Onc may want me on Arimadex or similar in the interim between surgery and rads. Had 4/11 nodes affected although all Grade 1.My boob is smaller and higher and firmer than the unaffected one naked but looks OK clothed so I am happy with that.Suze does the bio-oil act as a flower promoter or is that just your pic? Sweet peas? Still on the gardening theme my runner beans have white flowers always thought they had red ones we shall see? Hugs to all Jackie

Sorry I think it was Danjo with the flower pic not Suze. Thanks for your good wishes Maria it is such a relief to know this early about the margins feel I have week to enjoy rather than fret before seeing surgeon. Jackie

Jackie, was your fencing man lovely too ?
Carol, Yes my oven has got a fan and they said to put some water in the drip pan, so when I opened the oven door my glasses steamed up so much my wig never got a chance to sissle. Ironing on a Sunday , what a waste, sounds like the sr t of thing I plan to do, but tomorrow I’m walking up a mountain for a barbecue (and not in anything white)

Libby-yes those are my sweet peas. we grow runners on our allotment and you can have different coloured flowers. we are growing Lady Di ( orange) and Celebration(peachy colour). hav’nt tried Bio-Oil on my veg-be a bit expensive as a fertilizer!

Jackie-can you send your fencing man up to me? ours are at least 20 years old and falling down. Problem is we need 18 panels and a machetee to hack down all th plants!

Carolxx

Hello Ladies,
Hope everyone has had a good day. Got very excited at the sight of a letter with the hospital logo on this morning, hoping it would be my app with the onc. No such luck, it was an info leaflet from my BCN telling me about Letrozole (femara) and all about the loverly side effects. She says that I will go on them when my other treatment is complete, the things we have to look foreward to, i.e.going through the bl—y menopause all over again, that’s what it seems like, just great!!! I’'l just have to wait till Monday and start watching for the post all over again.
When I went to see my GP the other day she said that there is a waiting list to start treatment at my hospital as the onc has been off and just recently returned to work, I hope that she’s wrong about the waiting list, I think I’ll ring the BCN on Monday just to check, I’m sick of bl—y waiting for everything latley.
Well no matter how I feel when I come on here I know when I see posts from both Heather and Kris I’m in for a laugh. I couldn’t stop laughing at Heather’s white and chocolate coloured skirt, and I was in tears of laughter at Kris’s hair shampoo and toothpaste antics!!!You could both get people to raise a smile on the dullest of days. Many thanks to you both, I love to hear your stories.
Heather, I’ve just bought a couple of pairs of white trousers for my hols, I never wear white, usually black ones, goodness knows how long they will stay clean, not long knowing me.
Suzi, I love the new picture and the new wig, it’s nice to see a closer picture at last.I hope you are keeping ok.
Carol, love your sweetpeas i bet they smell gorgeous.
Jackie, great news about your margins, it’s loverly to hear good news, sorry to hear that your still having such a bad time with that abcess, I hope that they can get it sorted out for you this week.
Sandra and Vickie, I hope youv’e both had a good day.
Sandra is all of this spending due to the effects of Peachy Mother or are you always the same???
I’ve been out to see my friend who lives near Hawswater this afternoon, we had a short walk out and then had supper before I returned home, I was expecting to have the house full of granchildren on my return but they have gone camping in a field down the road with their Daddy tonight, they love doing that and it’s loverly and peaceful here.
OH has just brought me a brandy and lemonade (nightcap), well trained or what, so I suppose I’ll have to drink it!!!

Hugs and Best Wishes to all,

Isabelle xxx

Suze, Oh how much was the tortoise, they are so expensive in London, one Toby’s size is £450 - £600, Mmmmmmm perhaps l can sell him, and go shopping!! Never! would love another one, l often look out to see if anyone want to give one away!! well someone gave me mine, so you never know.
I am going to ask the onc next time! the girl l was next to had to stay in overnight because she is always so sick! and there is me eating for England! xxx

Maria, Everyone should have a tortoise, as long as they know how to look after them, so many people let them die in the winter, because they are not kept warm enough or the rats eat them!
I will have to set my camera up, and we can have a live chat!! Lol
bought it a long while ago, but never set it up! must be lovely to see your son and parents? makes it more real, rather than a phone call.
Well l never knew it you put water in the oven stops things happening!! l will have to try, mine is fan and when l open the oven l stand back and wave the tea towel about!
No more washing up? oh poor you, no more ‘hands that do dishes stay as soft as your face with new fairy liquid’ or something like that!
So you obviously have some energy, if you are walking up a mountain to have a barbecue? l am going to Epping Forest tomorrow with the grandchildren, we are going to a big lake to see what we can catch! could be fun, just hope we don’t catch fish! yuk!xxx

Carol, yes l did grow some once, but they were never as beautiful as my granddad’s and not many flowers, probably me, l know you are supposed to pick them to encourage them to grow. l will try again! bought back so many memories xxx

Jackie, go and treat yourself to a tortoise, they are so much fun, and very cute to watch. l think he is getting a bit frustrated, he keeps climbing up the wall or on brickwork around the drain, think he might be looking for something to mount, perhaps l should get him a plastic tortoise! that will teach him!
I was on Letrazole, in between ops and chemo, and l will be going on them when l finish chemo. l was only on them for about 7 weeks, but hardly had any side effect, l do wonder if nothing will work for me!!
The sweet peas were put on for me, by Carol, because l said my granddad always grew them on his allotment, but watch this space, because l think we may be getting a photo of Carol and her new hair style! xxx

Isabelle,
Peaceful night with a brandy and lemonade, what is he up to!!! brother/son in law/brother in law, out with grandchildren too!! Bet OH paid him!!
Was your onc in America with all the other oncs? they had a big meeting there, finding a magic cure for us, so if he was don’t knock him, he may have come back with some useful information, think mine went about the 3rd June!
No l cant blame my spending on peachy mother, l love buying people things! bought my son something and grandchildren, but couldn’t find anything for my darling daughter in law, so l phoned her up and told her to go and buy 4 dresses, then my son came on the phone and said what have you said, you made her cry! oh l said did she want 5? she is such a darling, never spends on herself always the children, so l thought she needs a treat, worries about her mother in law! xxx

Hugs to all
Sandra xxx

Hi Sandra,
My onc has been very ill himself so I have heard. He has been off for some time but I’m sure that he has a lot of other people working for him, I hope he’s a lot better now. They must be able to keep up with referals somehow.
Second brandy has just arrived, OH must be after something, what luck!!!

Best Wishes,

Isabelle xxx

Sandra…the small one was about the same size as a coffee mug in circumference and was £90, the larger one was £150 and shell about the size of a cereal bowl, seems they are much less expensive in the north xx you wil be travelling up now to by one i think lol xx

Hi
Isabelle, Hope you had a good night? l had an awful night, never got to sleep until 4.25 that was the last time l looked at the clock, and thought shall l get up, then it was 7.15, so l did get up, must be those steroids!
My Onc has lots of little oncs, so yes they should keep up to date, fingers crossed for a letter tomorrow!
I would have a hangover if l drank 2 brandy’s, mind you l would have a headache if l drank one! l prefer wine, but l have gone right off drink (alcholic)
Does the brother/son in law/brother in law (love it) come in for breakfast, or do they cook on site? xxx

Suze, Wow the big boy/girl are cheap, my Toby is about 7" dia. lf l decide to get one, l can get my cousin to bring me one down, my Mum’s family live in Yorkshire, they are due down in a couple of months. Might get them to keep their eyes and ears open, and l can look on the web! devil if Toby doesn’t like it! seems when older tortoise’s meet they often have a crash of the shells, not sure if that is a mating thing or a clear off thing! l may find out. xxx

Maria, Have a good trip up the mountain, if you already live up a mountain, and you are going up another, do you take your oxygen with you? Lol! The easy bit is the coming down at the end of the day l suppose? xxx

Another lovely sunny day, enjoy ladies
Sandra xxx

Hi Sandra,
I think they must have taken their breakfast with them, they have all gone home now.
I’m babysitting later tonight as my daughter is going with some friends and workmates to a summer ball at The Inn on the Lake at Ullswater tonight, she is into horses, has a couple and works with them too, I think it’s some horsey type do. I’m sure she’ll enjoy it, it cost me enough for her new outfit to go there, I got stung on a trip to Carlisle this week, daughters who would have them!!!
The brandy went down a treat, helped me sleep anyway.
I can sympathyse with the sleepless nights I get them quite often latley. Had one a couple of nights ago, I get to the stage where I might as well be up than lying in bed worrying all night.
When I went to the docs the other day she wanted to give me some tablets for depression! I refused saying I thought I was coping quite well given my curcumstances right now. She wants me back in two weeks instead of a month this time, I think she’s keeping an eye on me, though she didn’t say that.
Going out with OH for Sunday lunch, I love it when it’s just put in front of me at present without having to make it, I’m getting rather lazy but so what!
It’s pouring with rain here at present, OH has just come in from the fields as happy as can be, he keeps wishing for the rain as our fields are very dry and we are running out of water for the cattle and the house. We don’t have mains water, our water comes from a stream up in the hills, our neighbours about a mile away ran out of water about a month ago and are having an awful time collecting it from friends down in the village, it might be our turn before long. It would be loverly if it just rained all night and was sunny through the day but that is asking for too much!

Hope you and everyone else has a good day

Hugs and Best Wishes,

Isabelle xxx

Hi hope everyone has had a good day, it was so hot here that I thought s*d the ironing and went shopping instead. Got lured in to a shop, well several actually, but was quite restrained but did buy a fab black jacket 1/2 price ( so now can’t afford a tortoise) and some olive wood salad servers for my daughter and honorary s-i-l. They were in Wales for the w/e and have just arrived back for the last of the sunshine as it was so cold there. Also bought some Olay total effects moisturiser from Superdrug as it was on offer and my skin is still so v. dry ?s/e of chemo.Isabelle how dissapointing to get a letter about s/e of hormone treatment hope THE letter arrives soon. Gosh how I take my water supply for granted.Hope the happy campers had a lovely time.2 Brandies I would be keeling over but I am more of a white wine gal myself, am allergic to red wine.I think I remember Sandra claiming that the E in her FEC was ecstasy. No wonder she tripped over poor Toby.Is letrazole Femara? Good to here that you had no s/e as so mant tales on the threads about it. Will need to have a discussion with my Onc as only Arimadex has been mentioned to me so I need to know the pros and cons.Maria hope the trip up the mountain for a BBQ went well. No my fencing man was efficient but no great shakes in the looks dept. Still you can,t have everything. Thought Lidl might be German owned but always get it mixed up with the other one Aldi?Carol I don’t think my fencing man has a machete sorry. Thanks for info about runner bean flowers.Suze your wig looks very glam and photo much lighter now so I could see it.Ktis that has to count as a Heather moment ( or 2)with the insect repellent dry shampoo and toothpaste piles ointment. lol you and Heather do make me laugh so much.Well I really ought to go feed the happy couple, they are so lovey dovey it is great to see them together and hon s-i-l has been such a great suppport to my daughter particularly while I have had BC. Hugs and love to all.Jackie
