I thought some of you might find this link from the BBC interesting. This is very interesting as I handed in my notice August 2008 and did not receive any paid holiday or indeed pay at all during my 1 1/2 years off work.

This is a very interesting article. I honestly thought everyone would get their holidays if they were off sick - it hardly seems fair that you shouldn’t get your holiday after being sick. As usual, some high flying executive thinks that people will just use this to milk the system. I hope she never gets sick and needs time off!
It would seem to depend on your employer, I have been off sick for 4 months now and will automatically receive full pay for the first 6, my boss has just told me they will not reduce my pay to half at the 6 month mark and that I can carry all my holiday from my sick leave over. I am intending to go back to work in the next 2 months anyhow but I will have one and a half years’ holiday to take in the next 12 months - 39 days! so probably wont be there much anyhow!
