Hi Elaine
Congrats - you have boosted my self worth. Am 7 days on from last chemo with rads / hormone stuff to go. previous to BC was able to go to gym twice a week and did 1/2 marathon walks ( cant run have dodgy knee) Since treatment the occasional bike ride I’ve managed but really looking forward to doing more. Have ‘aching bones’ - say no more but generally ok now. Streiods have impacted and cant stand this constant appetite I have even though I know I aint hungry! Will my weight gain ( about a stone ) just come off? Should I rejoin my gym ( suspended membership) if I cant keep it up when rads etc start? More questions than answers…
But hey really great for you - keep the faith

Hi techo
I too used to go the gym couple of times a week and in the 6 months before dx had lost over a stone, just some of the weight I gained due to comfort eating after losing my dad in 2006 and my mum in 2008. So far have regained half of that and miss being able to go to the gym or join the girls at an exercise class. I have been promised by consultant that as soon as I am 6 weeks past chemo I can go back to the gym. They will organise a referral to physio so that I can let the gym and me know what I can and can’t do, but that it will be small steps to begin with. I guess it will be not how many times we can go each week but how much we get out of it to see if it’s worthwhile renewing and when
