I’ve been looking round for a couple of days but I’ve not really found any answers so I’ve decided to post and see if anyone can help.
I’ve noticed that the ducts leading to one of my nipples have become very enlarged, I can’t feel any ducts at all on the other side but on the affected side it feels like I have a rubber tube leading to my nipple, which has inverted.
I went to the doctor about it and he has referred me, and I’m just waiting for an appointment to come through, so it is being looked into, but I’m worried and could do with any advice anyone has got.
I was reading about duct ectasia on the main bcc site and was hoping that would be the cause but at 25, I think I’m a bit young for that. Would it be possible to get duct ectasia at my age?
Any ideas?

I too am waiting for my appointment with the hospital. I was supposed to be seen Thursday but it was cancelled til Monday due to the doctor taking ill!
I am replying to your post as I was diagnosed with duct ectasia a few years ago. The only symptom I had was bleeding from the nipple. It was like a thick dark brown almost black discharge. If it is this then it was a really simple straight forward op as a day case to have the ducts removed. The incision line is so fine along the lower line of the areola that it is not at all noticable.
I hope you get your appointment soon, waiting seems to be the common theme of most discussions here. Just a pity patience also comes with over active imaginations! Fingers crossed for you
