I finished my last FEC in April, and yesterday I was told one of the chambers of my heart is enlarged. I had an ecg before chemo so I know my heart was fine then.
Has anyone else had this from chemo?
I have been started on blood pressure med, have a host of blood tests booked and will need to see a cardiologist. I don’t know why but I am more scared about this than I was when I was told I had cancer

I had heart problems following chemo and had to have a gap before they would give me Herceptin. Had to have several,echos and fortunately it came back to within normal limits and I was able to commence Herceptin!
Hi Em - I have developed heart changes due to the Herceptin. They have suspended the drug and after seeing the cardiologist I too now take Beta Blockers and ACE Inhibitors. Last Echo showed slight improvement in heart results. Seeing cardiologist 23rd July, Echo 3rd August and then hope will be able to start Herceptin again. Marli xx

I’m glad your heart problem settled down a bit, Rosie. Are they still monitoring it? I think what I’m worried about is that this is going to be something permanent. I still have a blood clot from the picc line, and am still injecting Fragmin every day, and I really feel like my body is going to give up soon. But you say yours has improved too Marli, so maybe my worrying is a bit premature. Once again it is the waiting that does my head in!
I hope your appointment on the 23rd goes well Marli, and that the result of the echo is good news. How do you feel about going back on Herceptin?

I said exactly the same to my GP on Monday! She said “but at least you don’t have cancer…”
I hope the surgery went well on Monday and you are not too uncomfortable - you picked a lovely warm day to have it 
I had to have a dexa scan recently but only as a baseline thing because I have just started having Zoladex injections.
I really felt that when the chemo was over I would be out of the woods, now I feel like the forest is bigger than I thought!
