Ever heard of RADS by injection?

Hi all, I’m having a lumpectomy on 20th May which will be followed by RADS (have a 9mm hormone receptive cancer).

Yesterday was talking to a friend in California who’s had double mastectomy and she had RADS by injections into her stomach. (Sounds a bit awful. They used ice packs on her stomach and then a deep injection with large syringe & then warming pad afterwards). She said as I’m disabled with MS I should ask about it as might be able to have it at home.

I thought it was always done by machine. Has anyone heard of RADS by injection? Is it ever done in UK?

Thanks…& hope everyone is doing well.

Hi it’s called brachytherapy and it is done at a very few hospitals here. I think it is done for prostate cancer too. There is info on the cancer research site which I came across when looking for something else.
