Debs 28 you are SO right. I have a friend - I thought she was a good friend - who is almost triumphant that she still has 2 boobs. Whenever I mention my breast cancer she almost blocks me with a wall of talk centring on her pal ‘who has HALF a nipple’ - as if she’s recommending this to me or something! She seems so delighted about the mutilation of the women who were her friends.
I wrote an email to Breast Cancer Care’s magazine about the ‘eagerly awaited’ or whatever they said fashion show - the photo showed young women with both breasts in scanty clothing. What on earth does that have to do with us now? I feel like an outcast from that world, with a wardrobe full of clothes just slightly too lowcut to wear ever again.
No one answered my email about their fashion show, but I won’t be holding my breath.
Hi janechapel,
Sorry to hear you have not received a reply to your email re Breast Cancer Care’s fashion show. I will contact the relevant team and ask someone to respond asap.
Kind regards,
Kate, BCC Facilitator
So with you Jane! Praise be I still have two but one is severely mangled. I also seem to notice this world of ‘perfect’ flashed breasts… everywhere! There was a middle-aged woman on some property show on BBC 2 today with a ‘dive-in’ cleavage. BC does so much damage not only to our bodies but to every aspect of who we are. Rant over!

Hi Ladies
I think the adverts on shampoo followed by hair removal cream used to really get me down during chemo.
The one where the girl was looking at the red shoes in the shop with the snooty sales assistant. She took off her hat and had a lovely head of red hair. GRRRRRRRRRRR and she bought the shoes.
Still have my hair back now and it is in lovely condition. Came back wavy and grey. Back to my “natural” blond now so feel like me again.
Every time a sit in my doctors surgery the McMillan add comes on too.
Good luck to all of you still having treatment. Am 2 years now since dx and having a recon next Wednesday.
