expander replaced with permament implant

Just had my expander replaced with a permament implant. There are several questions which I could do with the answers.
How long before I can drive again? I kept asking them but did not get any real answers.
The new implant is bigger than my other breast. Is it still swollen ( 2 weeks after surgery or do I have to get used to this?
At the time of surgery I had a capsulotomy which I can only assume is where they took away the scar tissue. Will it reform with the new implant?

Can anybody help me on these questions or has been through similar expereinces.
Many Thanks
Sylvia

I had my expander replaced back in September this year - my scar is across the top of my breast (what is left of it) and I felt comfortable driving within a week - and was back at work 12 days after the op. Will depend person to person I suppose - just take it steady and only push as far as is comfortable.
My replacement is smaller than my remaining breast - and I did not have any problems with the previous scarring from the initial lump removal and subsequent mastectomy - so can’t speak for the second part of your post.
I find the new implant alot more comfortable than the expander - and I find I can forget that anything is different from before - I hope yours is the same!

Hi I had my expander replaced with a permanent implant 9 days ago and came out of hospital yesterday as i had trouble with the drain stopping. I actually drove yesterday so only a week and it didn’t feel uncomfortable. It doesn’t look much different to the expander at the moment although it sits less high up which was the reason for the change. It feels a little sore where they took out the port and where I had a dog ear removed but apart from that all ok. I think you can do what you feel you can, don’t push it and be sensible. Hope all goes well.x
