Experience of Faslodex?
Experience of Faslodex? Diag. bone secondaries just over 12 months ago and have been on Aromasin and Bondronat. Had bone scan in Sept last year which showed all was stable - had another bone scan two weeks ago and got results this week which show progression within the bones. My onc says as it is becoming resistant to the Aromasin he is changing me over to Faslodex.
Anyone else have any experience of it? - side effects if any? - length of time it kept things stable?
I feel fine with no pain etc. so it has come as a bit of a shock that it is progressing and I am moving to another phase of treatment especially as after this try with a hormonal treatment the next option will be chemo.
Look forward to hearing from you

Hi Smartie a friend of mine had Faslodex and it worked well.
She just found the injection site a bit painful afterwards.
Have you been offered Arimidex? It’s another aromatase inhibitor like Aromasin but it works in a different way. At my hospital you are normally offered Tamoxifen, Arimidex, then Aromasin and after all these Faslodex.
I know others who have gone on to have good results on changing from Arimidex to Aromasin or vice versa.
There’s another older hormonal treatment, Megace, I know very little about it but it may be another hormonal option for another time.
Good Luck with Faslodex.
Belinda.

Re Faslodex I had Tamoxifen, Arimidex, Aromasin all of limited use but Faslodex kept me Stable for almost 12months. Am now on Megace which has given me an appetite again so eating well and feel fine.
Faslodex is good only 1 injection in Butt every 4 weeks and not too bad , little sore the day after but nothing to worry about.
Good luck with it Smartie
Love dot xx
Hi Smartie
Here in NZ we are offered tamoxifen, megace then on to the AI’s. The megace worked for me for a little over a year if memory serves me correctly. As they say though watch out for an increase in hunger though I ate as if I was feeding the starving. Definitly worth asking about though.
