eyelashes have gone for the second time!

Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone has had the same problem of losing their eylashes/eyebrows for the second time!, sorry to sound vain at a time when others are at a low ebb but I feel I am taking a step back instead of going forward.

Had my op last june, 19mm grade 3 triple neg tumor HER2 neg, finished my chemo 4 EPI and 8 CMF 4 weeks ago, eyelashes came back in at an amanzing speed after EPI and I was over the moon as it made me feel i was on the way up and I missed them so much ( what lady doesn’t).

I am about to start my Rads on Friday but have noticed how thin and sparce my eyelashes have been over the last week and they have dropped out all but a few on my left eye, also my eye lids look very puffy, I have started to take some vitamins to build up my immune system pre rads, Spirulina, cod liver oil, multi vit, do you think it may be too soon or allergic and it’s effecting my eyelashes!!.

Thanks for looking and hope anyone can help me!.

Love to you all.

Hi Carol,
I finished epi/cmf on Dec 19th and hair had started to grow back after epi. It is now getting darker but not longer and eyelashes etc are looking thinner. I think maybe the longer, finer first hair is breaking off as the darker hopefully stronger hair comes through?
That’s my theory anyway but I don’t really know.
Plenty leg hair…no arm hair…go figure.
Anyway lets hope for some seriously heavy spring growth…

Carol,

I had exactly the same experience with eyelashes. They grew in really well after chemo finished in Nov and fell out 4 weeks later. They’re now back and are pretty thick.

Thanks girls,

I was getting very worried about them falling out a second time as I am sure we all think ‘‘what’s happening to my body now’’, I know it all sounds vain but I felt I was on the up then felt very low again.

Hair on the head growing great although… how Grey am I!!!, everwhere else is growing then the eyelashes/eyebrows fall out, why not the leg hair where we don’t want it LOL.

Hope you are all on the mend now, looking forward to starting my rads tomorrow and then hopefully all done.

Cheers and keep smiling.

Love,

Carol xx
