Fab1 BCC fundraising celeb event today....

Hi everyone,

I’ve not spotted any comment about Chris Evans, Gary Barlow, James may, Proff Brian Cox fund-raising day today, just for BCC, so thought I’d put a link up to their Facebook page as it explains it and people might be interested. Sorry if it’s already been discussed and I’ve just missed it! Basically they are driving a pink rolls royce from Lands end to John o’groats today, stopping off en route in (I think) Bristol, Birmingham, Warrington, Glasgow (?) …you’d best check though cos I might have misremembered that! We can turn up and support them and wearing pink gives you a chance to be picked from the crowd too. Then, afte this launch, I understand that the car is available to be hired out for the rest of the year. The target for fundraising is £1million.

It’s worth having a look at the page, if only to stare at the lovely Gary Barlow for a bit, whilst justifying it as ‘for charity’…

Bumpin to put it on main forum

I’ve seen details of the event but unfortunately cannot get o any of the locations. I haven’t worked out how to hire the car yet either…has anyone else?

Dear everyone

Below is a message from our FAB1 team!

We’re all very excited here at Breast Cancer Care about the FAB1 Million project! If anyone would like to hire the car just call 020 7960 3482 which is the booking line.

The car hire is £5000 (inc VAT) for a standard day, and £10,000 (inc VAT) for a premium day. Give us a ring for some more information if you’ve got a day in mind and we’ll be able to tell you what the full package of having FAB1 for the day includes. After VAT all the money will be going to Breast Cancer Care to fund our services.

Bookings are already being taken, so if you or anyone you know are interested in hiring the car, please do give us a call.

There is a chance to WIN a day in FAB1! Details of this can be found on the website www.fab1million.co.uk

Thank you all for your support – let’s hope we raise £1 million!

The FAB1 Team

Was there at the NEC event this afternoon in Birmingham in role as BCC volunteer. Fantastic experience and Gary, Chris and the lads were brilliant and spent ages chatting and being photographed with people - I know people have been donating and tweeting along the route and and the collection buckets at the event people were putting in £5 and £10 notes. Well done BCC a brilliant idea and I know was well received by all.

For anyone who wants to book the car, or support the team in other ways, go to the website http://www.fab1million.co.uk/

If booking the car is a bit out of reach, there’s a chance to win the FAB1 car for the day and donate £5 to Breast Cancer Care at the same time. Just text FAB to 83222. Text entry to the draw costs 50p, plus your standard network rate. A £5 donation will be deducted unless you choose to opt out - more details and terms & conditions on the website.

The road trip was just the start of this fundraising project, which we hope will raise a lot of money for our services to support people affected by breast cancer.

The STV coverage from Glasgow is here - if you know where to look you can spot me in the crowd at about 3 mins 25 just as James May says ‘it’s just nice’ (about riding in the car)! STV Player | Everything that’s on STV plus a whole lot more

BCC volunteers and staff did a great job.

Oh Saffron, I wish I’d known you were there! So was I. (I even got to stand next to Brian Cox.)
